  1. repka wasnt good, cult figure yes but not top level player. Payet is a better example he didn't want to come but he didn't hang about long either did he?

  2. frankfurt play real madrid in the eufa 2022 supercup august 10th so he will be giving that experience up as well to join us unless he stalls for a couple of weeks, otherwise we must be offering some serious wedge

  3. Agreed. If Kostic stays at Frankfurt, he plays Champions League. Then, next summer, he's a free agent and can attract more cash offers. And this is without any family disruption. Maybe it's really a case of Frankfurt trying HARD to cash in before he goes on a free

  4. Also if he wants to go chelsea good riddance I hope moyes don't wait around to long. Get in cornet 17 and half million buy out clause gey him this weekend if kostic does not want to come here.

  5. I think kostic is seen more a left wing back so he would be seen as a replacement for alonso who’s supposedly on his way out of Chelsea

  6. I think haller head was turned by the money more than who he was playing for, probably didnt know much about wh we were not in europe at the time, never looked happy when playing

  7. I get where you're coming from Gonzo and you're quite right. In an ideal world and with the sentiment most West Ham fans have with our club, we'd like all our players to love it too and want to play for us.
Unfortunately, we're in a position where we aren't quite at the top where the best players would come without a second thought and little persuasion….and we're above average, where we need decent players to come and push us forward but we aren't necessarily their ideal club…….Sometimes we have to persuade them and sweeten them with money x

  8. Kostic agent knows that there is money about eg Newcastle, and presumably this is their weapon to both promote an increase in transfer fee (and consequently their commission) and the players wages. Lingard's end move was clearly about wages, which he is however entitled to chose. The Kostic transfer does seem more dependent on more personal issues, which he will need to discuss, and agree with his family. Sometimes, as fans, we perhaps forget what a family upheaval such a move, to another country, can present.

  9. Kostic maybe 29 but he will bring so much to the team , hes ability speaks for itself, and hes got at least 3/4 seasons left at top level

  10. I don't have a problem with Kostic having a sniff around. Just as long as if he signs, he say's so. I had a look around to see any potential interest, but West ham really wanted me, and did everything they could to sign me.

If they do this I will respect them. I don't expect every player that signs for us, to love us straight off the bat. But once you have made your mind up to sign, you give 100%.

  11. id be happy with Maxwell Cornet if we cant get Kostic , Cornet can play anywhere down the ledt but as you say … a proper left back is drastically needed , would love either Luca Pellegrini or Borna Sosa for the left back role

  12. If it doesn`t break the wage structure its a great signing in Kostic Moyes maybe is learning to walk away Lingard was his man and he set boundaries.

  13. Good video. I agree that Kostic seems to want to experience CL football with Frankfurt. That he can have his choice of clubs once his contract has run down. I suppose Kostic could feel that a nasty ligament injury, ends those hopes. This could be his last chance at a huge deal. As ever money could well talk. I think Moyes see's the assist stats and that's the main appeal in pursuing. If Kostic sets up Scamacca on the opening day, all will be well. Peace

  14. Great video Gonzo. But where for art thou oh signings. One week to go for start of season. No left back. No left sides player. No playmaker in central midfield……that's a huge worry.

  15. If Moyes hadn't obsessed over JL we could have focused on other transfers like Zinchenko as Left back/midfield for £30M. Missed a trick there in my opinion.

  16. I completely agree with what you’re saying Gonzo. I’ve been thinking and what’s smarter financially for us is to go for him in January when he has 6 months left! Pay Frankfurt less than what they want now (less than 10 million) and most likely at that time they may be out of the champions league. We won’t sign him if he’s on a free contract because we know players go and want big money (lingard). And for that signing that we want in the now we can go for Cornet 17 mil buyout clause (20 million if we want to do it in variables) from Burnely and have him as a stop gap at the positions Masuako covers.

  17. i think, to be so close to signing broja, then for it to be called off so sudden, maybe chelsea wanted to include rice somehow in the deal, eitheir now or next season.

  18. I don't think Kostic and Zielinski fit the 'Red Bull model' Moyes was talking about. They're almost 30 and established internationals. Would rather the likes of Onana, Thomas, Dennis, Sarr, Cornet – younger players with something to prove and room to grow.

  19. Kostic is a great player but only if things are going well. I'm a hammers fan but was born in Hamburg and hence I know what I'm talking about when it comes to Kostic cause he didn't do too well for Hamburg after we signed him in 2016. also, last year he tried to force his transfer from Frankfurt to Roma by basically going on strike… mercenary mentality at its best. I think Raum would've been the one instead, but it seems that ship has sailed

  20. if kostic breaks down…maddison for sale newcastle offered 40 mill rejected…..would be great replacement for lanzini/vlasic/fornals if one of them sold.
moyes mot is just an excuse for him saying no…..lingard failed moyes mot on most claims yet he pursued him to the end, thus making the mot a fantasy or him living with the fairies.

  21. It’s not difficult when Cornet is available. He’s toughed it at Burnley and now be offered London and European football, along with a much better team.

I do wonder about our strategy at times. Sure we need a long term replacement for Rice but why not take care of the left and another attacking option like Sarr.

There are some alright loans out there like Gilmour for CM.

Who knows if we do make 4th, Rice might even then stay for another seasonz

  22. Kostic is nearly 30. We need more youth and pace. We will need upgrades on Daws, Oggy, Cress, Manu, Pablo and that’s just 1st team players. The wider squad’s the same. We should be doing this now, whilst we still have Dec and Jarrod and before these older players tank completely. Sarr is a better option to Kostic imho. Younger and faster must be in Moyes MOT
