Celtic have signed Aaron Mooy and Moritz Jenz ahead of our game in Poland against Legia Warsaw tomorrow.

Mooy joins as a free transfer on a 2 year deal and centre-back Jenz, on a season-long loan from FC Lorient – with an option to buy.

  1. Chris is such a good listen…..me and him r very similar in age so a lot of what we says resonates…..he said at end about us building from a position of strength and said didn't do that when we did 9-we never did it in 2003 after seville and never pushed for Rodgers….these past few windows have been unprecedented….great show as always lads

  2. Finding it difficult to join Chris in his excitement for either the players signed today, or the net spend of £9m over three transfer windows (did he really say that?)

While I don't think Mooy is an outrageously poor signing, his profile has imo relatively few pluses in terms of the profile a lot of fans were hoping for in terms of our next midfield addition. The general train of thought on our priority for the midfield was a tall, athletic, defensively orientated player that could break up opposition play & help defend set pieces due to us hemorrhaging height with our outgoing players such as Ajer, Edouard, Bitton, Jullien & Scales. Hence the excitement earlier in the window around our links to Vicinius Souza.

A 31 year old 5'7" mid does not address this, if anything draws down the average height of our already short team that regularly concedes goals at set pieces

Mortitz Jenz profile, while certainly boosting our average height, does not appear in any way to have a CV worthy of unseating our current central defensive partnership that operates in the Scottish Premiership, never mind in anyway ready for the Champions League.

Both individuals, and the nature of their transfers, one a free agent and the other a loan, are pretty uninspiring, and suggest we've missed out on higher profile targets.

  3. There is still something missing from our squad. That 1 player who makes everything click. Lets hope there's 1 final signing to get us excited

  4. I'm more than happy with the squad, I think our best back 4 is Taylor, Starfelt, CCV, Juranovic. We could still do with someone in front of the defence who can focus on stopping counter attacks instead of our midfield sprinting back when we lose the ball. Really looking forward to the rollercoaster ahead! Well done Ange, keep up the good work.

  5. I think they're both shocking signings by the club tbf, a 12 month loan deal for a defender who's agent has been pushing to get him a move here since last year even though he had a shocker of a season and then Mooy, a guy turning 32 with no pace or and no energy anymore, but he was free so give him 12 months as well. They're not here because they fit the system, they're here because they're available and cheap. They do nothing for us in terms of CL football.

  6. Mooy is coming of a man of the match performance in a world cup eliminator. He will be vital in champions league football when the shit is hitting the fan.

  7. Hi Paul, good stuff again. Regarding Mooy, you might find he will be the player who will anticipate Kyogo's moves. Mooy has incredible vision in terms of identifying opportunities.

  8. Ange has been a manager in clubs that haven’t had the buying power that Celtic have and it shows the quality he brings in for chips
    Trust him
He moulds young players and experienced players get his methods HH
