With so much time now spent playing professionally in England, you almost forget that U.S. MNT defender Tim Ream began his career with the New York Red Bulls in 2010. In this episode of Behind the Crest, Presented by Bud Light Chelada, the veteran center back discusses returning to Red Bull Arena and the need to #get3 points in the USA’s crucial World Cup Qualifier against Costa Rica on Friday, Sept. 1 (6:30 p.m. ET; ESPN, Univision and UDN).

  1. I feel as thought Tim Ream is a growing talent, but I don't think he should be our starting CB. He has made a couple of mistakes that could have been very costly. I believe nothing beats having Brooks and Cameron in the back so I'm hoping that is the case for our must win games. Nothing against Tim Ream, but I just think he is not ready for the first team just yet.

  2. Despite being inconsistent for the national team, Ream has done well and made himself a consistent starter for Fulham last season and looks set to still be an important player for them. With Brooks injured, either him, Besler or Gonzalez will likely start alongside Geoff Cameron so it'll be interesting to see who gets the opportunity and who makes the most of it.
