I would be happy with Kovacic as a sub for Gundo, not a replacement, but at a reasonable price. I would say no more than 25m. We also need a fullback and a right winger. Also, if Bernardo leaves, we need another midfielder too. If Laporte leaves, we'll need a CB as well. I've heard we're in the race to sign Kim Min-Jae as he's got an affordable release clause. Apparently we're in the race for Josko Gvardiol too, but he's way too expensive in my opinion.

I think this is a mistake. Similar age. Gundo is settled. Gundo captains. Gundo is earning his request. Unless we got a younger, moldeable player, there’s no reason to let gundo go for a lesser player in the same demographic for more years on contract. Bad business imo.
What about Kaky?
Id rather keep Gundo for 2 or 3 more years and look for someone better than Kovacic over the next year or so.
Gundo doesn't need pace the way he plays he uses his experience and intelligence to be good so his age isnt a big concern. Im not really into the Kovaciic idea but of course I'dgive him my backing and support him if he is signed.
How about Lavia? He looks decent he knows our club and has potential to be a top player.

As much as it pisses me off that Leao has signed a new 5 year contract at AC Milan…I wouldn't be paying £175M to release that new contract [the cheeky bastards]…And Gundo should stay at least another 2yrs…the man is mustard…and a good captain….
No Kovacic, useless, keep Gündogan and all the smart guys. Next season will be very hard with good Arsenal, Liverpool, Newcastle and City.

JSGC if we got the cash , and we do, everyone is going to cry poor Joe. Ilkay must stay! Father time will tap him on the shoulder one day and say "it's time to move on" but one would think it won't be within atwo year time period.
city must have a coating for kevin de bruine, gudongan, rodri, next season, if you are looking for players of equal quality, don't just look for players, city is unlikely to buy mateo kovacic
