If you think mount is better than Trent you’re mad. If Trent went in Midfield and didn’t need worry about RB he would be 1 of the best in the world easily
England has the qualities in all departments to play without Trent. A defender who can't defend is a liability, and he's not good enough as a midfielder to start over any English midfielder. It worked for 2 seasons at liverpool, coz they were literally playing with 3 dms, whose sole job on the football pitch was to protect their fullbacks. Being good at crossing the ball isn't enough to get you a starting role in a team like England, or any top football team.
Southgate is a negative and boring manager

Even if Man U and Newcastle draw a game it is still in their own hands.
Both teams need to drop 5 points (well Man U 4 points with their much worse GD) and Liverpool need to win both remaining games to get in top 4.
As a Liverpool fan I am just delighted this is even a discussion as just a month ago it seemed impossible to even qualify for Europa League which is now guaranteed.
My prediction?
Man U comfortably third and Newcastle squeak fourth with Liverpool fifth. And if that happens the table doesn't lie they will both deserve it.

Trent's a defender who can't defend, if you want him in midfield for England, he has to first get that position at club level and prove he can play there against the best.
Southgate is a man of his word and picks people on form, hence why Maguire is always a starter 😂😂
England is the only nation in the world that would even have to debate starting a player like Trent.. it’s actually mad. Arguably the most technically gifted English player and Southgate can’t fit him into the team. This country will never win anything.
