  1. So proud of the young team eventhough we threw away every cup and bottled the league im just so proud we achieved top 4. There’s no better feeling than winning absolutely nothing but seeing such a young team qualify for a competition they have no chance winning.
COYG I love this club ❤

  2. We must maintain perspective. We’re building an experienced squad in their physical peak playing together for a while now. Will get even better next season

  3. Brighton's manager told the world they are coming to the Emirates to show the real Brighton and they did, their manager is better than Arteta by a country mile. Biggest bottle jobs, not good enough

  4. End of the day we are second above the likes of Liverpool, Man Utd, Chelsea and Spurs, we were written off so early in the season with such a young team who will be playing in the Champions League next season, job done I say!

  5. Thanks Charles.
Tbh I'm only here for Joel telling us what a fantastic season it's been by our world class and elite manager in going 3 seasons straight winning zero silverware but next year with 8 new signings he's gonna win both the EPL and the UCL with the youngest squad in the league….

  6. City are a machine, most other years this arsenal would have won the league – nothing to be gutted about just got to get up and go again next season

  7. The biggest learning curve to be had is for the manager. For me this is going to be the biggest challenge. Arteta has changed many things all in the positive. BUT when left with the decisions that are at 'ground' level – are actually about the team on match day – selections tactics game management, he has been found wanting especially once the pressure cranked up in the last two months. Will HE learn? I hope so but I'm not sure he's capable. Ultimately a young side that collapsed last year has NOT learned this year – we've still collapsed. We've collapsed at a higher level BUT we've still collpased. That aspect is the same and is at the managers door. Will a proper striker who can bag 20+ goals a tighter more physical midfielder a more physical defender to add to a current back 3/4 make the difference if we collapse again? because of the managers shortcomings in selections tactics and mentallity? I'd give Arteta one more season to improve HIS performance.

  8. How on earth as that clown of a ref not booked more players from both sides is beyond me,on another note disappointing end to the season thanks for the great ride and let’s go again next season,it says a lot about the City juggernaut even when we were 8 points clear you know they can/will go on of their stoppable winning runs, congrats to them and keep your heads up lads I’m proud of you all COYG❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

  9. I bet they spent the week thinking Everton could do something and were flat after that result. We have no idea whether Kiwior was actually in immense pain, but about 2 mins later he was sprinting around again, very much looks like he flopped. Hopefully he learns from that. Realistically, when we are struggling in a game, and our options are to take off Jesus and Odegaard for Eddie and ESR, we are gonna struggle. Hopefully ESR gets some form with a decent pre-season developing in that 8 role but I don't think Eddie can be 2nd choice striker next season. I think Reiss should play LW last 2 games, maybe give ESR a start too and play Tross RW or even Xhaka' role. The league is gone, start looking at what these other guys could offer next year, Man City have shown how important squad/role rotation is to competing on all fronts.

  10. The aim of elite sport is to win. We messed up again Thanks to Our club staying friends with Brighton. Ancelotti is free or Siemone go get them elite managers. Edu defo has to go simply useless.

  11. City still have Brighton and Brentford away which isn't an easy task. It was all still to play for despite the result at goodison, such a shame.

  12. So disappointed to be humiliated like this. Cannot help the sense of deja vu, stumbling at the late lap; it’s happened so often in the past. Still, objectively speaking, finishing 2nd is a huge step up. Only hope we can build from here. 😢

  13. I just do not understand arteta's subs when we're chasing the game. Just seems like he loses his head and throws tactics to the wind to shoehorn in forwards. It makes me so frustrated when our shape disintergrates and the midfield is sacrificed. To what end. Desperation from the manager transfers itself to the players. Ludicrous.

  14. I think we all knew we were always getting 2nd. No-one is competing with Haaland 😄
Very proud of the team 👏 Best season for years 🙌🏻

  15. Lack of quality squad depth cost us in the end, not being able to give key players a rest…its disappointing because we were top for so long but we've progressed so in this last year…respect to arteta and the boys

  16. Ben White got destroyed because he is not a RB he is a slow unagile CB and his old teammate knew that and just had to twist and turn to easily beat him and cut into the box….. The injuries to our defenders is the reason for downfall, we have to sign a better backup than holding and we have to get another RB as tomiyasu is the only one and he's been injured for so long

  17. As many have said, we were comprehensively beaten by Brighton. Sharper, quicker and smarter on the foul (helped by poor referee). Our form over the past 10 games has not been good enough and we would have finished second no matter what the result against Brighton. So 2nd which is a fantastic improvement. Arteta and Edu have earnt our trust in their future plans.
So lets be positive we lost nothing yesterday but hopefully learnt a few lessons.
Ben White is an amazing player, good on the ball and fast as a centre back, but against a top winger? (Mitoma is going to be snapped up, what a player). Can we compete at the highest Champions League level without a specialist right back?
With Jorginho and Xhaka we have two good players but no surging pace which Odegaard also doesn't have. For balance this will have to be addressed.

Up front do we have a 20-25 goal a season player hopefully one who can get on the end of crosses? Brighton simply covered the "Pull back" cross from which we have been so successful. Easy to do when they know they do not have to worry about an ariel threat in the box.
Everyone raves about Zinchenko. I love what he can do moving forward, his passion and commitment. But is he a top class defender? You need defenders who can defend at the top level. Nelson looked the sharpest of all the forwards. Sako and Martinelli have had great season, but give Reiss a run out for the next 2 games, still believe he could have a future. Holding deserves a big thank you and an opportunity to be regular elsewhere. Tommy will be back next season and is the best right back in the club. Worried about Saliba's contract but in Ben White we have another quality centre half. Would like to see Norton-Cuffy given a pre-season assessment/chance as he looks a player, big for a right back, good pace as well.
The future is bright, thank you all at the club who have made it so.
Charles thank you also for your reporting, always fair and balanced.
