Not a great game for any of our players against Everton but they showed resolve and resilience and nicked it 1 nil. Plenty of times we've played well and lost so to me that was a great result especially the bombardment we got 2nd half. Coutinho needs game time just like Buendia.

Agreed Bissouma was a lowball bid, I think they could go with £35m with add ons maybe. Bentancur maybe a good signing too, so hopefully one of them will be in before the end of January. Hopefully we will get a CD on loan as back up, unless he’s going to bring Kerr Smith up from U23 in a month. Keep doing the good work Luke.

SG has a mini pre-season planned for the break.I think we'll come out of that fully prepared to push hard to the season's end. Buendia starting to prove his worth..we've only just starting to see the best of him as he starts to settle..he'll only get better and apparently his built up a great personal friendship off the pitch with Coutinho which will only help both player's..this squads starting to come together now you can tell what Gerrards all about with him now wanting the fella from juve stevie isn't slowing down at all with his demands on what and who he needs to make villa successful. ..really really like what's going on at the villa and you can only see us becoming a serious premier league outfit..I really feel we can at last start feeling excited for the future

With the next run of fixtures we've an excellent chance of going further up the table. The break will be a blessing for SG. Coming from the South west with not many teams to support, i've lived my 26 years as a neutral. However my gf and I are going to be living in north Birminham for the foreseeable future so I thought its about time support a team. Really pleased we got the 3 points against Everton. First half was a decent performance. We still looked a tad nervous at times 2nd half and that needs to be addressed. I don't like to say it, as he has been a really faithful servant to the club and put in some excellent performances, but Mings has to he replaced. He isn't good enough to take us to the next level and I think Stevie knows this. He has a nervousness about him that I feel feeds onto others and he makes far too many mistakes. I really feel we are another quality CB and ST away from being a real force right now. Exciting times 😊💜 UTV
Great podcasts from you lot by the way. haven't missed one. I know it's unlikely but Bissouma coming would be maybe the best signing of this window if we could get that over the line, which is saying something given how good it has been so far. Even if paying over the odds..

I see that Man City are signing Julian Alvarez from River Plate, who Villa were interested in last Summer. We have missed the boat there. Sky Sports Transfer Talk were implying that he looks to be as good as Aguero! City are best team in Prem at the moment but they’ll be even better with a proper striker. A pity we didn’t go ‘all in’ for Alvarez whilst we had the chance!
