Newcastle United’s new goalkeeper Nick pope has been speaking to The Athletic about coming to Newcastle and the decisions behind him wanting to join.

He also believes that this is just the start for the club signing big England international stars and that they will want to join should they be approached.

  1. Leicester must think we're some sort of charity club
Have they forgot they still owe us money from Perez
F Maddison I hope we sign Paqueta.

  2. Barkley would be a cheaper option as I'm sure Chelsea will be wanting to offload a few to help with their own financial situation I guess it depends on how hungry Barkley is to perhaps prove a point to Chelsea and other doubters. But if Maddison is our main target stick to it and get him in, lets not shop in the premier League bargain bins again.

  3. What I love about this channel and your attitude and passion Paul, is that you fully appreciate how far we’ve come and where we are heading. Exciting times ahead
And many thanks for being such a great talisman

  4. We have spent over £150m since January, this is going to be a steady and methodical build, its pointless saying City have spent a 100m plus on 3 players, they have sold 3 players for over 100m and are in profit, we have struggled to give ours away, Would make one more bid for Maddison if its rejected move on.. time for calm heads and big picture thinking.

  5. Down the years you have to look at teams that won the premier league, not only win it but dominated it
Man united & Arsenal and they never won it by keeping rubbish players they had a total clean out man utd used half the youth team overnight I'm seeing lots of toon players still here that should've been gone a long time ago, I see people bigging up Almiron, Wilson, Shelvey, Willock I mean come on how many clubs in the top half of the table would have these players in their squad, if we keep hold of mediocre players forget about European football and its probably the mean reason players don't want to come to Newcastle playing week in week out with headless chickens.

  6. After years of lack of investment i think we are being greedy.
But if we must splash the cash i'd prefer a striker, coz wood is not up to it IMO.

  7. I think Maxwel cornet Is a transfer target that has a high chance of happening, He's not to expensive wages wouldn't be an issue,. And if we say pretty please🍒 they might let us give them Chris Wood back 🤞

  8. Yes Paul, great to hear the players are now starting to take notice of us as a potential force.
Plus well done Kieran Trippier he knows the crack up here, pass it on to your mates 👍🏻
Well only the world class ones

  9. I'm not angry I'm not bitter I'm not a doom mongerer I'm just underwhelmed with the transfer strategy. I would rather we sign 1 attacker that we want above all other than penny pinch and sign 3 so so players that are barely better than what we already have.

  10. Do we want any of the current England squad? especially the friends of Englands current manager. We want players with attacking thoughts not the way England play unfortunately.

  11. This is the player’s we need put the black& white on and stand proud I’ve been a fan since my first match since 1956 wher kids were passed down to the front and the farther had nothing to worry about at the end of the game the dad’s would sit on the steps and the kids would go find them with the help of the stewards great times

  12. As a Leicester supporter I firmly would be disappointed if maddison did leave. I understand the attraction of the potential to go to Newcastle but feel at this moment in time Leicester and Newcastle are at different stages. I would see this as a bit of a backwards step. I'm not trying to imply Newcastle is a bad propersition (appologise for spelling) however as a club on the rise and not quite the level that maddison should be looking at. I think Newcastle have amazing supporters and hopefully your new owners will keep building the team and the infrastructure within the club as I feel the Newcastle supporters deserve what's coming their way(trophies hopefully in the near future).
