What happened is that he was constantly finding himself in goal-scoring positions at City. Sterling has never been clinical lol, that was literally City fans’ most common critique of him. However, if you create enough chances for him, he will score.
Pep is such a genius that under him stupid runners like Sterling and Sane were considered top players. Now we see what they are outside the City system)
He was one of the best wingers in the world in 2017-18, 2018-19, and 2019-20. His form started to dip late that 2019-20 season, including the illustrious Lyon matchup in UCL. Then when Pep switched to false 9 in 2020-21, thats when Sterling started to decline big time. Hes been shit since November 2020 (Honest City fan).
