Trossard was superb again – one stunning pass which led the crowd to gasp. He is the glue in that side, so clear minded and composed and never seems to feel the pressure, there is no one else within that team of whom that could be said.

Arsenal have won every premier league game he has started and we know what happened when he was dropped for four games. At Anfield of all places, Arsenal benched the coolest head at a place for cool heads where too he had earlier in the season scored a hatrick.

It is crazy for him not to play at Newcastle. One person said to me that – in the most flattering sense – Trossard never looks like he gives a ****. I and most supporters know what he means – he just comes on and does his job regardless of circumstance and never seems phased. It almost seems as though he plays for fun and that can be a useful antidote to the contagion of anxiety and fear which gripped the side at key moments. Arteta should see this. My sense is that Arteta sees Trossard in attitude as not his type of player but that reliance on energy from the manager and fans can make a side brittle when disconnected – Trossard operates differently and it could represent an on pitch "backup power source". Calmness is contagious too. Trossard seems more of his own man than other players and may well not easily buy into Arteta's somewhat evangelical method.

When this team has lost its composure at the most critical time, he was not played. Trossard makes the side robust and resilient.

I’m surprised Xhaka was only averaging 1 red card per season. The way you guys keep going on about it made me think he gets 5 red cards per season. 1 red a season is not bad at all. Casemiro got 2 red cards this season alone.

People are pointing out chelsea not doing well but what about Southampton, they are also the worst till they met arsenal and picked a point from the Emirates in almost their last 7 games, Arsenal for me, came with a purpose and that exposed Chelsea

Finally we get to see Kiwior given a start and he didn't disappoint. Trossard has been sorely missed and it was right to bring in Jorginho, with Partey's dip in form. So, yeah, all 3 January signings thoroughly vindicated. The only problem is that Arteta was too long in properly addressing the rot at the back. It's not Holding's fault. He just isn't the guy to replace Saliba and deliver what this Arsenal squad requires from its CBs. Had Arteta started Trossard and Kiwior against West Ham or Southampton and stuck with it, would we still be 5+ points clear of City? Of course, we'll never know but Arteta needs to learn from this and respond faster to limit the damage. I'm sure I'm not the only to have groaned upon seeing the team sheet against City and knew we'd get thumped.

Oh, and while I too wasn't happy (at the time) that Mudryk went to Chelsea, it probably wasn't his choice. The boos were unnecessary but the lasers pointed at him were disgusting. Anyone doing that sort of thing should be up on a charge of attempted assault and banned from the sport for life.

trossard definitely needs more game time he always seems to create gols its just hard to know whose place he should take, we cant read too much into this game tactically tho ,Chelsea are poor
