Marco Tilio is an interesting case, 20 years old, champion of Australia with 18, starter for the number 1 ranked team in the A-League and capped for Australia but isn’t getting the recognition he deserves.
Creative attacking midfielder who looks to play between the oppositions midfield and defence, while looking for pockets of space, drifting from side to side and moving between channels to get himself in good position to unbalance the defence and create some opportunities for his teamates while also looking to overload the wings with numerical superiority situations. Technically above average, likes to turn on the ball to quickly pass the ball into space but has also the skill and dribble to challenge defenders. His passing ability is impressive, according to Sofascore, during the ACL, he has 86% passing accuracy, 80% on opponents half and 83% long pass accuracy, doesn’t seem to have any range prefences and likes to play killer passes. Physically limited by his height (1,70m), keeps getting targeted by defenders with constant charges, needs to learn how to counter those challenges a little better but fairly pacy and aggressive, good work rate and defensive contribution, height doesn’t hinder him as much as it should.
