  1. The quality Gomez / VVD pairing of 2018 is long gone and Klopp needs to realise that. Matip has been the clear no. 1 to pair VVD for a long time but he's too injury prone; and with VVD being shocking in 2022 it's causing major issues at the back. Add to that 2 wing backs who bomb up the field (Robertson hasn't been as strong in 2021 & 22 and Trent can't defend consistently) with a midfield that can't run, pass or even press consistently outside of the odd burst from Henderson, you've got huge exposure at the back.

No wonder Trent is constantly trying to hit millionaire 50 yard balls over the top, as there is no distribution from the midfield.

Thiago / Keita / Ox are too injury prone, Fabinho is more defensive, Milner is a pensioner, Henderson's performances are dropping off and the rest are basically kids like Elliott – he NEEDS to sign some talent in the midfield to boost squad depth and provide more defensive cover at the back.

The press has also been almost absent since Mane departed, as he was the main catalyst when it came to winning the ball back.

  2. How can you dismiss Fulham? It showed a lack of fight… this is the main issue they’re facing. Liverpool used to be so fast out the blocks and now they’re not.

  3. The title is gone. Unless city screw up this is it. The last seasons heavy games has taken its toll on players… Result – injuries… This topped up by a poor window ( in terms of number fo players) just spells doom.

  4. Losing Mane will be a huge. Nunez will take awhile to get going and the injuries hasn't been kind. Liverpool is approaching an end of its golden cycle, players that made it what it is are either ageing or leaving. Testing times ahead.

  5. Short answer: Yes. The first 3 games have been bad and if Liverpool play Bournemouth at Anfield next week with that mentality and play, expect another draw

  6. Unpopular opinion

Klopp is a great manager but not as flawless as everyone says he is. This is why in PL history I don't rate him as high as guardiola or even a Jose or a wenger . I feel like he has many bad moments no one talks about freak results like the 7-2 loss a couple of years ago to Villa. That moment when he went about 3 months and a half without a single win and blamed it all on injuries despite the fact on paper Liverpool should have still beat a lot of these teams . And now Not a win in 3 matches this season and massive flaws at the back . He'll still go down as one of Liverpool's greatest managers but He has big flaws and isn't as consistent as it seems and yes Managers like pep Jose wenger ect all had moments like this but they have 3 PL titles. Klopp has 1 in like 6 seasons

  7. Well I don't think they should be worried with the number of injuries (10) we have had, which I was worrying as we played literally every game possible last season, but once jota returns and Nunez settles, I think we will be just fine, would love to have a midfield signing though because you can't rely on Naby Keita or Alex Oxladechamberlain and even Thiago is injury prone, if we have to compete with the top clubs this season a midfielder is essential.
