Great player shame he had to dive for the pen
It was a “phoney war”. Both coaches held back on personnel (Middlesbrough) or changed in-game (Luton) to give squad members a runout. Both managers knew automatic was out of the question, and on form, they should meet again at Wembley in a real “do or die” war.
Middlesbrough looked a class side. Luton quick and direct and dangerous on the break. Would make for a fascinating final, and would be a close run thing – either way IF they both make it to Wembley.
