  1. I would be very surprised but very pleased if we front-end load the transfer window. If so, what do we attribute this to…. Newman, Kretinsky, Moyes being pro-active with his list, Sully really taking a step back, or a combination of some or all? Lingard and Areola would be an excellent start. I don't have an opinion on Aguerd (has Moyes lost interest in Milenkovic as well as Tarkowski?) Worrall would depend on the playoff final obviously. Dennis looks a quality player but I just feel that Broja fits Moyes' preferred formation perfectly. Would be good to see 2 young strikers come in of course and used rotationally they prob wouldn't rock the boat, with Antonio backing up Bowen on the right wing with Yarmo leaving.

  2. History has a funny way of repeating itself. Moyes knows that… that's why he desperately wants to sign A-G-U-E-R-D-O!

Antonio HAS scored from outside the box, so the impossible is possible now… we're going to win the league with an Aguerd goal deep into injury time in the last game of the season šŸ˜€šŸ‘Œ

  3. IĀ“m always a bit surprised that you think left-back is such a big priority? I think Cresswell is a better left back than Coufal is at right-back, and Johnson can offer a decent and improving back-up, if not a replacement for either. He has played on both sides and done well. Another centre-back is only needed, alongside Zouma, if Ogbonna doesnĀ“t come back. A top class number nine is the biggest priority though. I would also say that an attacking midfielder – like Lingard but preferably younger – is definitely needed. West Ham really need somebody better than Fornals and somebody more consistent than Lanzini. Nathan Brennan would be my main target.

  4. Imagine Geo Rice, Lingard & Bowen @ the '22 world cup akin to Moore, Hurst & Peters @ the '66 world cup!! āš’COYIāš’

Aguerd a year younger than Zou, taller/faster too, MV over price by Ā£5-8M + Alese added to squad + Holding midfielder – K Phillips!!

New striker(s) Lingard + Dennis (Broja, Nkethia or Awoyini) livin the dream šŸ¤£šŸ˜‚šŸ¤£šŸ˜‚

  5. Hi Geo, evening everyone…. Let's get some players in the first week, pre season will get them bedded in hopefully… COYI !!!

  6. Let's hope we don't spend 3 months chasing Lingard only for him to go to Newcastle on deadline day, but we know what usually happens.

  7. What is good as you say is getting business done early ……. Enter midfield…….. was vlasic bought a year early to get him ready for next season……just a thought………and 20 odd million on centre back makes me wonder how much have we got to spend????….. more than we think……… lingard…… no brainier….. players love him as does Moyes……. If he wants it go get him

  8. Spot on Geo…! Lingard playing for a World Cup place would be a great Lingard to have.
Here’s one for you and the chat… 100million in the bank, can bump it up by selling players, who do you sign…??? Who do you sell?

  9. I think linguard is damaged goods, we got a good season out of him. But think we should stay away. West ham should go after Connor Gallagher.

  10. Personally I think there's going to be a lot of changes and a very big transfer window.

I'm thinking/hoping it will mean 5 or 6 inbound players.

As we all know tho, I'm probably wrong and supporting West Ham we've all been let down before.

  11. I think we are going to struggle next season. The Thursday night games in the ECL will sap the legs of our players and leave them exhausted for the League, much as we saw this season.

We should do what Tottenham did and exit the competition as soon as possible. It is the least prestigious trophy in football, a two-bob tournament that should never have been created.

We have a thin squad as it is but now that we can’t offer proper European football we are an obvious target for clubs that can. Rice, Bowen, Soucek, Coufal – we have a number of players that might be poached.

I am not usually defeatist but that collapse against Brighton might well have serious consequences for us. I am not looking forward to next season at all.

  12. Just watched Aguerd in the 1st half of 2nd game against Leicester. Twice saw him sprint down the length of the pitch from set plays to try and stop counter attacks. Can see why Moyes would like him. Would easily be our fastest player bar Frederick. He was a touch faster than Lookman sprinting down the middle of the field. Gives us something we don't have. I hope we can get it done, but history says this might not even be our primary CB target. Just look at Milenkovic last year and we ended up with Zouma.

  13. Really hope we get Lingard on a free. Could be such an invaluable signing. I'd love you see you and Gonzo do a retrospective on the career of Mark Noble, along with your favorite memories of him as a player. What a loss this man will be to the dressing room.

  14. Let’s be honest our business in the last two or three windows has been poor. This is a big window for Moyes. We need a younger Dawson, Worrell would have been my choice. I like defenders who can defend.

  15. Fast is good, certainly something we need plenty more of all over the team, d, mid & up front. Just don't get the Lingard infatuation Moyes clearly has. I guess for a 29yr.old he hasn't got too many miles on the clock but that tells a story too doesn't it? (Relax, still hit the like button, good vid. As usual.)

  16. I don’t know why but I have a feeling this Aguerd is the Milenkovic/Vlasic player of this summer. I.e. we’ll only sign him if our actual target (Worrall?) won’t be joining. When Zouma became available that was the end of Milenkovic.

It doesn’t look like a typical Moyes signing. As he mostly signs his centre halves from the domestic leagues: Distin, Lescott, Jagielka, Stones, Zouma. When he has shopped abroad it’s been from established clubs competing at the top of the League. Yobo (Marseille) and Heitinga (Atletico Madrid). And even Yobo was initially a loan deal. I just can’t see Moyes agreeing to spending Ā£20m-25m on a centre half from abroad. Especially after the Vlasic fiasco.

I have to say I wasn’t particularly impressed with this Aguerd’s defending when Rennes played both Spurs and Leicester at home in the Europa Conference. Watch his defending for all the goals.

  17. Will we really pull our finger out and finally sign Areola as he should be our number 1 keeper . As for the other rumoured possible signings not impressed at all , why are we in for a inconsistent Lingard who flatters to deceive every season . As for Aguerd not seen him well didn't stand out if I had , but have read he lacks pace , which in my book is a no thankyou , now if we are looking in France why are we not in for Kiki Kouyate of Metz ? , he is one hell of a player if not the best defender in France ( just my opinion ) and they have just got relegated .

  18. If we'd paid Utd 25-30 mil for Lingard last summer (rather than NV) he wouldn't have been a Utd player to score the winner against us and we would have finished above them with that small change in points

  19. With the transfer rumors we’ve had, I’m excited to see what happens. JWP, Raphina, Broja just to name a few. Hopefully this summer is what will be instead of what could’ve been

  20. The defence needs strengthening. We scored in every home game last season. Potentially tht means each clean sheet is three points. The fact that we did not win that many home games suggests that the defence is the priority.

We also need another attacker to allow Antonio to be rested and for the attacking group to e freshened up. Lingard might be enough, but Dennis would be a real bonus as he brings use.
Moyes must feel a little vindication that united had to withhold a squad player

  21. I wish we would stop looking at Lingard.
Once he gets in permanently he'll have nothing to prove and will fall into the same mentality that see him on the bench the best part of the last 5 seasons.

There are better cheaper options in the Championship
