Newcastle fan here. Maguire is the hilarious joke that keep on giving. Man Utds captain? Haha hahahaha. Keep that absolutely atrocious player away from us. The best defence in the league.
Maguire is not great for England either. stop all these delusions. He alters the attack formation of England because the team over-commits other players to shield Maguire.

Not even a decent player. Worst player that I've seen in decades and he doesn't even look like a football player, maybe a rugby player or sumo wrestler or even cricket. He's been stealing a living at this level

Simon made a valid point. Like Kane, the reason Maguire looks good for England is because we often play vastly inferior opposition. The talent pool and quality is diluted. There is no pressure on him and often nothing for him to do. Yet when he comes up against equal or better opposition, he falls short. Lack of pace, situational awareness, decisive decision making all lead to his mistakes. And it’s on a regular basis and has been for a long time now. The only reason he plays now is there’s no-one else. And how someone with utter lack of personality or leadership becomes captain is beyond me. He’s scored 20 own goals in his career and people forget he made plenty mistakes in the one season at Leicester before they snatched 80million for him. Fans are entitled to call him out on it.
