      There's only one perspective that matters when signing players for triple digit millions and that's the buyer's, but these contracts have become too commonplace taking into consideration the value these players (usually don't) bring to their new clubs. As far as i can tell the only positions that merit such figures are in the striker, playmaker (#10) or centreback roles, and the players that fill these shoes need to be amongst the very best in the trade, guaranteed high impact players. But clubs aren't paying attention it seems.

      To Liverpool. City, Manure, Arsenal Chelsea and even Spurs he sits on the Bench
      Because his close control is not good enough for the tippy tappy stuff they all play

      As a WHU fan, I get to watch him every week – Rice is a future england captain, Moyes & Southgate play him as a CDM covering other defensive positions at the same time = so his work load is immense and unfair at times + so he is not expected to get 15 to 20 goals a season in that role, but his ability is there to do it if he was directed to play as a attacking midfielder on a full time basis – if no top 6 english club wants to pay 100 mil for him then thats fine, he will probably go to Real or PSG.

      Yawn 😴 , Maguire not worth 80 mill, enzo not worth 100 mill , lukaku not worth 100 mill , Antony not worth 80 mill , Murdyk, Pogba, Fofana……. List goes on. No one’s worth 120 mill but guess what , the football player market is crazy ….. Mbappe would go for 250 mill in current market. It’s not outrageous for rice to go for 120 mill

      It doesn’t matter what people think. It’s what West Ham want. He’s got 2years left on his contract, they don’t need to sell so clubs will have to pay. If someone wants your house and you don’t want to move. You’ll make them pay over the odds you won’t move for little money. People talk about he’s goals but that’s not his job. He’s a holding midfielder there to break up play and give it to the play makers. And he’s the best player in that role. If rice don’t get his move, he don’t seem the type to throw a sissy fit he’ll put his head down and play for the fans.

      According to wiki £120m would be the third most expensive signing ever, if rumours of arsenal being favourites and their record is £72m for a flop, Rice has never played in the champions League, never won a trophy, his highest league goals in a season so far is 2, and he's not the most marketable – they'll do well to get £120m for him

      You are having a laugh ,he's not worth even £20 million for me and there isn't any English player who is worth more than £20 millions, its just the media who puts them up there,have you seen any English player in the top 10 when it comes to best players in the world ? None ..😂😂😂

      And the Declan Rice thing …. no, not worth £120m because he runs half a pitch and beats ones defender…"oh hes english, he's amazing." STOP over orgasming about English players, they're 70 percent crap. Its a great goal, but he'll never do that again in his life. Heres' the problem – the media will love him, make him out ot be better then he is, say hes amazing and world class and then …. destroy him when he raches his peak. Watch it.

      It’s all madness. Who is really worth that money? In comparison Rice is probably not worth 120m but a deal should have add on’s if he is that good pay up down the line. Bear in mind West Ham fans don’t want him to go. I’m grateful to David Moyes for what he has done and sitting in the fence about his future. I edge on keeping him.

      This is wishful thinking from a Newcastle fan, but I see rice as the perfect signing for us this summer. Rice is top class and would free up Bruno to play in a more attacking role. Signing rice would take us to the next level. Botman, rice, Bruno and Isak a very good, young spine.

      He's worth 60m at most!! 120m is laughable 😂… this trophy is nothing to shout about! Was only formed 5 minutes ago to make more money and give the lower teams something to actually win… I'd rather win the community shield than this lmao

      Rice is worth exactly what clubs are prepared to pay, no more no less. Whatever the amount you can be sure the buying club are bringing in an absolute Rolls Royce of a defensive midfielder with the capacity to develop into whatever his next manager asks of him. Any top six club would be lucky to have him. If possible I would prefer him to stay at West Ham for another season though.

      He’s got a year remaining on his contract and West Ham haven’t had a good season so they have no leverage. Not a chance anyone pays that price for him and West Ham know that too.

      It's crazy to think that when we talk of players today its always in millions. There has never been a player worth 100 million I don't care who they are, it takes 11 on that pitch. For me its all about the money. Whoever is in charge of England their going to find a struggle to find players in the future!!!!

      Rice kept looking around to pass ball before having no choice to but to go on n score against Genk! Gerrard, Rooney, Lampard wud never hesitate like that when they were faced with only one defender…..they bang straight on to goal n shoot! Rice doesn't score enoigh goals for a "driving midfielder", he's too hesistant and lookong for easy sideways pass…..I wouldn't want him at Villa for £40M lesr alone £120M! He hides at average West Ham, he wud be exposed at a big club!🤔
