Absolutely nonsense……Wokegate means there’s only 32% of his regular cronies available. Example: James Tarkwoski from Everton can play 110% better than Maguire in a centre back position, why: He has way way more talent, skill and fitness, rarely makes errors, played every game for Everton this season…..but never selected 😮. Gareth Wokegate has a fools face…..he has a zero CV, limited leadership expertise, got promoted into the senior manager squad role by luck and ole boys club promoting
FA should show some balls and sack him. Too negative and although we will qualify easily, we will fail in the latter stages of the next major tournament.
The depth problem comment coming from a manager who selects maguire and phillips when they don't even feature for their clubs is laughable. Just an incompetent manager. If he was a epl manager he would have been fired after that 2018 world cup.

he does not pick on form, otherwise Dier, MUGuire, Phillips, etc would not even make the squad, there are so many English players that are playing well and are match fit that could do a job for England, yet he picks MUGuire who was ta fault for a goal, Phillips who was very average at best ''looks tired'' as the commentator suggested, how can he be tired? he is supposed to be an elite athlete, if he has trained well enough to play he should be fit enough, Dier is just a donkey that wouldn't even get in the Scotland squad. leaving some of the in form players out is Southgate showing his favouritism, ok they have won the first 2 games but the performances were not great, Italy were lacklustre, and Ukraine missed so many guilt edged chances, if some of those had gone in then we would be discussing a different narrative.
Southgate literally benched Rashford every game in the WC and now he's bashing him publicly just because he's having a little time off. Southgate should be sacked immediately.

Gareth has his favourites, what he is saying is "outside of my favourite players I have no idea what to do"….what he needs to do is give players a chance, we have some fantastic players at all levels across the football league, just because a player isn't playing in the Champions League doesn't mean that aren't good enough to play international football.

I think Southgate is correct we are short in certain areas for example Centre Back and Midfield which was highlighted by Maguire and Phillips selection. There appears to be no one currently challenging Maguires position at CB and we seem short of competitive ball winning midfield players if Henderson is unavailable with the possible exception of Gallagher.
We are the envy of the world for depth, yet we won,t win sweet FA as the managers and coaches are crap….

There are plenty of good players eligible to play for England however it’s a totally different ball game to highlight those who can be called internationals.

Southgate is not a winner, we had him as Captain at Villa fr years!!! And as Villa fan fr over 40 yrs who never liked him as a player, let alone Captain! My eyes rolled and I couldn't believe he was made England Manager!..I even predicted he wud miss his infamous World Cup penalty as a Player! Since was Southgate a penalty taker!
