      I read the ducks/pens rumour earlier. Makes zero sense for both teams.
      " insiders " love coming up with utter nonsense this time of year.
      I'm sure all 32 teams want matvei michkov, at 5, mtl gonna need lottery luck. And if mtl gets lottery luck, either spot 1 or 2, they ain't taking michkov over Bedard or fantilli

      Gibson is a quality goalie whose numbers are tanked by a bad team. When he's taking 40+ shots most game it's inevitable some go in. His cap hit would be the biggest concern for acquiring him.

      That Rust contract is an albatross, the Penguins would be fortunate if anyone takes him on, especially for an actually valuable piece like Gibson.

      In terms of Ottawa, i think the team as a whole would be better off with Gibson in net as compared to DeBrincat on the wing. Goaltending is the biggest issue for the Senators.

      Maybe a trade looks like: DeBrincat to the Ducks for Gibson + a 2nd round pick + a prospect who needs a change, like Jacob Pelletier. Something along those lines. That could be a win-win.

      As a Sens fan looking at the idea of the Guentzel trade, I don't think it's the best move. Presuming that Malkin, Crosby, and Letang are all coming close to the end of their playing careers I kinda assumed Guentzel would be a top contender for the captaincy

      No way their is a Guentzel trade for Gibson obviously won't be 1 for 1 but their is no way I see them giving up a top scorer for the pens

      Columbus doesn’t have an issue with Russian players the issue is Jarmo needs to get a 1C in the prospect system now and that’s why they would pass over Michkov at that point

      There is 2 goalies out there that could help them.One Jacob Markstrom and 2 Jordan Binnington.Binnington is an Ontario native and Marksrom might ask for a trade.
      But the problem with Ottawa is they have several young players that are going to be top six but they play them 3rd line where they can be hurt.Ottawa has a bunch of bottom six players that could be moved.Parker Kelly,Shane Pinto,Eric Brannstrom,Matheau Joseph and Travis Hamonic.There is also Josh Norris.Tim Stuzle has emerged as the top line center.Josh Norrises contract is huge.
      My proposal is that Ottawa moves,Josh Norris,Cam Talbot,Lassi Thomson,Nick Holden,Travis Hamonic,Dylan Gambrell and Patric Brown.Only Norris is of top line.This would free up space for Pinto to play in the top six.Jordan Binnington,Bradden Schenn,Justin Faulk and Jake Neigbours from St. Louis to Ottawa.They still have Mandolese so they could move Matt's Sogard as well.
      Then I would look at moving Debrincat to Calgary for Adam Ruzzika,Nick Ritchie and Dillon Dube.
      Then the tough part,Shane Pinto,Parker Kelly and Matheau Joseph for picks to Arizona.That would give Arizona a top 6 forward a left or right wing and a prospect in Kelly.The price a 2025 first a2026 second and a 3026 fourth.Pinto is a top six so is Joseph,that would save Ottawa some money because Pinto will cost a lot within the next 2 years.This move would give Ottawa some cap flexibility. Debrincat is too much.So develope a bottom 6 with all big boys.Checking lines with big players that can score.Beat up on the other teams top lines

      Anaheim helped Boston become a great team allowing Hampus to go.Then they traded away their top plus minus guy in Mahura so management has no clue what they are doing.

      If Mitchkov can't play NHL until 2 years from now hes gonna drop hard in the draft. I cant see how a team would take the risk to let him play 2 whole years in KHL. HABS should stay away.
