    Jordan Pickford believes England’s Euro 2024 qualification win in Italy has laid down a marker for Gareth Southgate’s side.

    England had not beaten Italy away from home since 1961 but recorded a 2-1 victory in Naples on Thursday night to start their campaign in impressive fashion.

      Gareth Southgate will tell his players to not allow their sympathy for war-torn Ukraine to go easy at Wembley on Sunday night.

      The England boss has played a key role in ensuring the victims of the conflict with Russia will be recognised in advance of their EURO 2024 qualifier but insists his main focus is on beating the troubled visitors.

      Certain quality players are gonna be delighted to see the back of that gobshite. Rashford and Toney, Tomori, Madison etc.

      Rashford hasn't sat out on the England games because of injury, it's because he's absolutely key to United and decided the club is more important. That absolutely shambles of a man running that English side has ruined the experience of playing for England for him. Absolutely no doubt in my mind.

      Maguire gets in? Philips? Southgate is the Spurs mentality of football managers. Nice and average. Not winning a massive tournament when you've been as close with this quality squad is 100% Spurs. "We got to a champions league final….."we get top 4." Won anything major? At all? In decades?

      Awful.

      I don't know why he didn't replace injured players, it's not like we have shortage of talents, Watkins, Abraham, Barnes, ward prowse, Jacob Ramsey, Madueke, just to name a few. I still can't believe after the world cup they didn't let him go.
