I've been saying it for years Trent should stay in midfield, he'll save us a fortune, and get a new right back
Other than Klopp's obstinate ego I cannot see a reason why he hasn't moved Trent into the midfield much earlier. He "discovered" Trent as a young fullback and then always maintained Trent was a good defender, so maybe his ego prevented him from seeing how really flawed TTA is as a defender.
I've been saying this for some time now, TAA should be in our midfield he's like only one in our squad that can pick out that key pass for forwards.

Trent to cm is fine BUT please donāt let the owners use that as an excuse not to go out and spend big money of the likes of Bellingham, Gravenberch, Renato Sanches etc
Trent was brilliant in the second half picking up the ball in central areas of the pitch so anyone telling me he can't play in midfield are complete idiots! We should play Thiago and Fabinho with Trent in front of them both in the next game and put Gomez at right back. He will get more assists and more goals and we need someone like that in midfield a good attacking player that scores and creates and Trent can be that player.
We have Calvin Ramsey for right back, Connor Bradley will no doubt be sold at some point, along with Craig's favourite in Tyler Morton. If any of these lads were good enough they'd have been retained and not loaned.

I think Trentās criticism is over the top. Heās never been a great defender but always had cover behind him to let his attacking attributes flourish. Now with Fabinho and Henderson dropping off, I think thatās why heās more exposed. He never gets support from Salah defending either. On the left we have had Jota and Gakpo, both have tracked back

What is an inverted fb?
Been saying this for ages, Trent should play in a 3 man midfield on the right has the ability to create chance after chance all day long. Gomez to play RB for now as he's defensively more solid then Trent.

i just think its not his position that's the problem, he's an amazing defender who fell off, he's got nothing in his tank. he's slow and his reactions have slowed. I love Trent right he had seasons where he was the best RB in the league so for anyone who says he cant defend is a joker. I think because he's literally playing every game in & out. he needs someone to fill him in, in some games we need an extra RB! someone similar to Trent Id go for Djed Spence in my opinion. Man City always rotate their players they have like 3 top squads in their team with extra players in every position who are brilliant.

Next season playing Trent as a midfielder with Bellingham will improve the squad a lot. Then getting a new RB with defensive qualities will work well.

They said on the broadcast Trent was playing inverted fullback. I think it makes sense to have wingers help defend when needed as well especially wingers like jota

I liked Trent in midfield against Arsenal. I think he really tried his best or at least this performance was the closest one to his best. My only problem was…he was everywhere. He tried to be "Number 6" and when we lost the ball he quickly needed to run to Right Back. Then on another attack he was almost RW or as CAM. It felt like he is roaming all over the pitch.
Either we play with 3 defenders permanent with Trent in midfield or play 4 defenders and buy proper Right back or put Gomez in as RB
