could be a good hail hail mick great video !!!
I have been following Itakura at Groningen in the past two years, he has the ability to transform his team into a winning team. It's sad not seeing Groningen fc on top of Eredivisie while he is in
Excellent stuff 👏. HAIL HAIL
Great options already 💯💯 let's try lad a few celtic 😎😎
Brilliant transfer news mick as always/Like the look of this guy.No nonsense approach to defending Could be a star in the making for us.Would love to see him vuskovic gauld and hickey come in.and if we keep eddie would be a bonus and a start.Keep up the great work bud
This guy looks decent! Remember watching Laxalt videos and he looked rotten. Itakura looks composed on the ball and athletic. Would love to get him to sign tbh!
As an FC Groningen supporter i think it's sad he is leaving. As a fan of Ko i wish him all the best and i'm sure he will not disappoint. IMO what he lacks in strength, he makes up in technique and that will go well with the other defenders like you said. Besides You can't have only hammers in your defense when saws are also required.
Great content.
Perhaps you could do a video about the successes of Japanese players in some of the bigger European leagues, especially the Budesliga, for those who are worried about Japanese signings and their ability to adapt to to more physical league? Maybe the concerns are because the last time Celtic had a good Japanese player (Nakamura), there were not that many Japanese players in Europe and so not many of the fans are aware of the progress Japanese football has made over the last 2 decades.
As a Socceroos supporter (here because of Ange!) watching the gap continue to widen between Australia and Japan, I can attest to the progress!
Some may be well known like Shinji Kagawa, Shinji Okazaki and Maya Yoshida because they have played in the EPL. While their performances were mixed in the EPL, they performed well in the European leagues they were in before heading to the EPL. But there are others like Makoto Hasebe, Atsushi Uchida, Yuto Nakamoto and others who had long and established careers in Serie A and Bundesliga.
And there's Keisuke Honda, and to a lesser extent Takumi Minamino, Gaku Shibasaki, who doesn't quite fit with any of the above two categories, but have nevertheless made some impact.
There's also more recent moves that have looked promising so far like Takehiro Tomiyasu (at Bologna), Daichi Kamada (at Eintracht Frankfurt) and Takefusa Kubo (Real Madrid but out on loan at various La Liga clubs over the past few seasons.
I'm not suggesting these players should be signed, but that the track record of the transition of J-League to Europe may be better than one would imagine!
Also in terms of physicality (I heard on an Australian football panel talk show a while back), I'll need to confirm sources but I believe a few years ago the JFA instructed J-League referees to let more physical challenges go as a way to help Japanese players adapt to more physical games internationally. Perhaps they are now seeing the fruits of that decision.
