Fremantle has ignited its season with a dramatic win against an injury-hit West Coast, finding its turbo button and clicking forward of centre to win Western Derby 56 by 41 points at Optus Stadium.

Inspired by Glendinning-Allan Medal winner Caleb Serong, the Dockers won 16.12 (108) to 9.13 (67), kicking their highest score since round 17 last season and leaving reigning premier Geelong as the only winless team after three rounds this season.

  1. Full credit to the dockers, they stood tall in the last and outran us, but I expected that. I don’t think many of u guys know how hard it is playing with no bench. From a eagles fan wishing freo good luck in 2023 ❀

  2. Jamie Cripps – broken ankle
    Luke Shuey – hamstring
    Jeremy McGovern – hamstring
    Alex Witherden – head knock
Liam Ryan – head knock and knee

  3. My prediction for eagles team next week (due to injury)
    In:
    Hough
    Clark
    Culley
    Harry Edwards
(I'm not sure who will replace Ryan and Cripps yet we don't have many small forwards left)

  4. thuggery sports, nothing comes out good on those all players. Their brain constantly being steered to be aggressive, swearing, spitting

  5. Michael Frederick deserves an lifelong suspension for emoting after scoring to a team who have 5 players injured and no benches

  6. STOP PUTTING THE RESULT IN THE HEADLINES, YOU CHUMPS!

  7. Liam Ryan landed on his head. Rather hardly. Even with no bench makes a bit of a mockery of the "concussion" rule to go back out. Another hard hit could have ended his career. The Eagles have lost the plot.

  8. This match had just about everything. A high-scoring first quarter shootout, Dwayne Russell calling his first Western Derby since 2020, Liam Henry making numerous mistakes yet again, some fights, injury hell for West Coast, a Michael Frederick backflip (in which I wish I'd done one on my tipping of this game), an attempted comeback by the Eagles, a dominant final quarter from Fremantle, a lot of booing from their fans directed at Andrew Gaff (remembering the 2018 incident), very good sportsmanship from FootyFlamez.

This is the Dockers' fourth consecutive Western Derby win and Caleb Serong's second Glendinning-Allan Medal. Fremantle's Michael Walters (four goals), West Coast's Oscar Allen (three goals) and West Coast's Jack Darling (three goals) all combined for a whopping ten goals!

Fremantle travel to South Australia to take on the Adelaide Crows and the Gold Coast Suns in back-to-back weeks while West Coast host Melbourne in Perth before flying to Adelaide to take on currently-winless Geelong.

  9. Lets all give a big clap for the umpires for winning freo the walters the dog who is a sook gave so many free kicks away because he was ducking his head into tackles

  10. New game plan and style for faster movement and forward progression – yes that's wonderful when many in the WC team are injury prone, have been for a few years and will continue to be.
Sack Tim Gepp and all the recruiters – roll the CEO and Board, the club needs a major clean out asap.
