Skokic waited, until the 88th minute to sub out players. We were unfortunate, two times the ball hit the post, but it is what it is, we are still
tied on points on the table with them. Iran and Korea are qualifying it is just a matter of who will finish 1 and who will be the #2 in the group. We can always make some tweaks to the starting XI, I would also like to see Saman Ghoddos get some playing time at his English club to get his legs back. There must be a reason why Skokic is not playing him.
Good job guys. Shame. We could've destroyed them. He's a soso club coach but certainly not a National Team level manager; not really bothered if the next manager is Persian or not. We rank 20 in the world right now n we shouldn't fcku it up. FIFA n AFC (Zzziiooniisst organizations) are totally against us n keep conspiring with our own federation to undemine us n that's an old news by the way.
Guys thanks for the great feedback. I agree with almost all of it specially the fact that Scocic plays defensive and cautious. He should've played attacking so that we could win…if we play like this at home…how are we going to play in Seoul? In general Iran played awful in the first half, then played well only after going 1-0 down and then after they drew they went defensive again??? It makes no sense. In all honest South Korea controlled the match and played better than us at home. I think we have to be very very careful against Lebanon and Syria and I don't think they are going to be easy.
I don't understand the complaints. A draw with Korea is not a shame. We got scored on by a top class premier league player. Korea is still Korea guys. Strong team. If I were to bring one thing to attention it is the lack of pace we have in the middle. When you play teams like Korea and Japan it's noticeable more. Hopefully they are getting in better shape. Lastly, despite not being fit I think Ezattolahi's ball disturbution is fantastic. He is very accurate with passes, switches field nicely.
Pragmatism is the reason why he stuck to the 4-4-2 took Gholizadeh off and moved Amiri too LM, also the reason why he didn't bring on Ghoddos and to be honest it leaves me wondering whether or not Skocic will be able to get results against better teams at the WC. But given our position in the table and Korea being our toughest opponent in the group I am happy with the Coach's decisions and happy with the result overall
