  1. I feel like a lot of these problems for Liverpool could have been averted if in the last 2 summer windows, Liverpool rejuvenated their midfield and back line

But the dumbest thing they have done, is letting go of Mane.

  2. Pep deserves more praise for his tactics here. I mean John stones was playing as an additional cdm alongside Rodri. Man City under Pep is a team where players can play out of position seamlessly. We have seen players like Walker invert and play as a second cdm, Cancelo as well, Bernardo silva etc. A couple of weeks ago, we saw Bernardo silva playing as a make-shift left-back and yet City won those few games that Pep tried that 'insane' tactic.
Also Julian Alvarez fits perfectly in this City team. His intelligent movements, his mobility, his link-up play, his tireless workrate makes City move the ball so flawlessly and the players are able to interchange positions seamlessly. Alvarez is truly a gem.

  3. Some key points i have observed in the match:

1- This is why you don't press in a 4-2-4 Formation against a team that likes to dominate the midfield, You'll basically get raped to death.

2- Im quite surprised you haven't mentioned how City tended to overload one side of the pitch before switching the play to the winger with either KDB or Gundogan overlapping to cross it into the penalty area or cutting it back to the midfield.

  4. Klopp should start Darwin further up 9 in his natural position and Jota Gakpo and Salah behind. Double pivot and the fullbacks in the middle of the pitch. Poor tactics in general for my dear Liverpool

  5. Good video as usual but you didn’t talk much about how the City wingers demolished the Liverpool full backs. I remember you saying the City wingers have lost the explosiveness compared to Sane/Raheem time and i think i saw that explosiveness today or maybe Liverpool were that bad?

  6. Pep was brilliant and City played very well but the analysis is too simplistic. Klopp was naive and should have been less open but he most likely using the game as a template for the run in against the better teams rather than genuinely expecting to get 'a result' at the Etihad. Liverpool have technically inferior players to City, with two midfielders who can't run at speed, can no longer tackle or press anywhere near what is required at Premier League level… Their two younger physically capable midfielders are both injured and the other two are hopeless crocks 😂😔 So Klopp was stuck with Henderson & Fabinho ambling around chasing shadows. Liverpool's most threatening wide attacking forward Luis Diaz was also absent after a bad injury. Diogo Jota is nowhere near match fit after a long injury lay off, so effectively Klopp was carrying 3 players against one of the best teams in modern history, away from home. City were full of confidence and playing at the Etihad at least 5 points behind the Premier League leaders. The result should not have been a surprise to people who truly know the game.

  7. Pep is definitely the greatest manager of this generation by far
Being able to be so consistent in the toughest and most demanding league in the world season by season just unreal
Even when City was behind in the scoreline they could score two three goals easily

  8. Great video. But a question: Can you put one day here a problem with Liverpool in every area during this season? I think will open the eyes to most people… and for open a debate about what type of players will need to buy

  9. The refined tactic of forming a box midfield and still stretching your opponent's backline by occupying their fullbacks is becoming such a potent attacking weapon. Pep, Arteta and De Zerbi (who's style is quite different and actually deserves a bigger team) are deploying this system to maximum effect.

  10. Alvarez will probably never have the numbers and headlines that Mbappe and Halland get. The difference is, he makes the entire team play better. He is very tactically aware, he is so so good drifting back and occupying the classic 10 position. He presses and defends effectively. The level of tactical awareness is basically unheard of for someone his age. He was born to play as a false 9 in this team.

  11. At this point its not only tactical, liverpool are finished, they have never been the most technical team like a real or man city, but they were the best at never giving up, always working hard, high energy that very few teams could match, they just look dead, it's crazy tbh, from what they did last season to this, crazy

  12. VVD is an absolute scam nowadays, He couldn't tackle a player to save his life. Konate is the only Liverpool player who can defend. Robertson looked shaky from the start and he should have been subbed by Tsimikas at the end of 1st half. Mahrez and KDB were consistently getting between the lines and Liverpool should have dealt with that by moving to a 4-5-1 4-3-3 hybrid system

  13. Liverpool's pressing and intensity became weaker and weaker every season as they lost key players who were absolutely amazing in it, which are Wijnaldum, Mane and Firminho.

  14. If there were Haaland instead of Alvarez, link up play would be difficult. Alvarez is not as good as Haaland in term of finishing but he is good at link up play. Moreover,Baby Jack was superb yesterday.

  15. Your analysis is very boring
    Work on your presentation
I believe that you identify the game well but genuinely your presentation is never engaging.
You made me sleep in the opening 3minutes😴🥱

  16. Against man city, pressing their back line isn't as effective as pressing the midfield. Liverpool should have focused on dominating the center, letting city use the wide lanes. Once man city has possession in the center, it's game over cus of their positioning

  17. When I played Fifa 23 I used Stones as my CDM due to Rodri being injured and imagine my surprise when Pep played him as CDM. Tactical genius😂😂😂

  18. As good as you analysed this, nonoe of what you discussed led to a goal.. A simple observation. 1) For all 4 goals AA was involved – Totally out of position and playing everyone on for the first goal. For the second goal you AA was in the RW position and Fabinho couldnt make up the space left behind giving the attackers freedom to move pulling Konate out of positing. Third goal he lays it on for Gundagon while lying deeper than everyone else. Fourth goal AA doesnt track Grealish. Klopp may have issues with the midfield, I think he is to blame for not addressing the AA problem. If the midfield is not up to it anymore, then he needs to accomodate with a RB that can defend as a priority.
