Honestly, I think Arnie should have had a crack at trying for the England job. Hear me out. To me, he is a genuine upgrade on Southgate (who will retire after England flop at their next meet). His framework is defensive/counter attacking football and likes to grow into the game. No one can dispute, Arnold made the best substitutes at this world cup, almost perfectly timed, which made a huge impact of our national teams success. As opposed to Southgate who takes Saka off, their clearly best attacking threat during a clinch match against France. I honestly think Arnold would have bought the best out of that England team, whilst setting up in a defensive style to the approval of the English FA.
Australian government needs to step up!
