  1. Villarreal are aware of Barcelona's interest in Juan Foyth after finding out that his agent met the Catalan club. However, they will not let the right-back go unless his release clause of €42m is triggered, Javi Mata of Diario AS says (4 stars).

The Yellow Submarine consider Foyth a key player. They do not consider accepting players in a swap deal or negotiating his release clause.

Top reporter Gerard Romero (5 stars) says that, under current conditions, it will be 'complicated' for Barca to sign the right-back.

For now, the Catalans are yet to submit an offer for the Argentine. As per previous reports, they want to first reach an agreement with Foyth's representatives.

Xavi sees the 24-year-old as the best-suited option for his team.

Amid the negotiations with Juan Foyth's camp, Relevo's Toni Juanmarti reports that Barcelona are in search of a more attacking profile for the right-back position.

No names are revealed, but previous reports say that another option on Barca's table was Thomas Meunier.

However, other reports say Xavi sees Foyth as the perfect right-back for his team. The Argentine is more defensive than Sergino Dest and has a similar profile to Cesar Azpilicueta, Xavi's top target from earlier this season.

Manchester United are considering making a move for Sergino Dest, British outlet talkSPORT report.

Barcelona value their right-back at around €20m.

As per reports in Spain, Barca are open to Dest's departure. Xavi doesn't count on the right-back and even dropped him from the squad for the first game of the season.

Up until now, Sergino has been opposed to a departure. Let's see if the opportunity to work with former coach Erik ten Hag will change his mind.

  2. But like, how does this club escape criticism? They are still spending on transfers when they can’t even pay their current players

  3. I dont understand the foyth replacement. Foyth is (for the right back Position) a Technichally "ungifted" and pure Defensive back. Barca always had a pride in versatile, Offensive minded full backs. I can See the move if they try to build up in a 3 back with foyth rotating in the three back.If not isnt he a liablity in their build up? Open for discussion!

  4. Fake news y’all. Barca are NOT going to buy Juan Foyth. No one in their right mind at Barca would agree to spend 40+m on that release clause alone for someone who’s not fully proven. Dest will remain for the time being

  5. Dest got injured as he started getting good last season and Xavi hasn't really given him a chance since but he still somehow starts Eric Garcia and still gives Ferran some playing time

  6. Sounding like they just don't want dest because he's American lmao yet they don't want to admit that, anyhow the kid can go somewhere where they want him.
