It’s nothing to do with transfer fee if Celtic already agreed a fee. Mcgree has stabbed Ange in the back for a extra few thousand pounds a week
He has heard about the 35 + guys who were groomed abused and buggered inside parkhead and barrowfield and he has been disgusted by it.
But but he was signed yesterday according to the great unwashed. Septic was the only club he had ever wanted to play for.
Like you mate, I was checking the McGree news daily because I couldn't wait for him to sign. McGree has/had so much potential and it's going to be squandered languishing in the Championship. It's also not great for his national team prospects.
I knew it! You just can't trust Aussies to make good decisions. But seriously, I can't believe he's joining some loser second tier team and turning his back on Celtic. He's saying No to a juicy steak and settling for some jerky.
McG's salary wouldn't be a problem for Celtic, the transfer fee would be in relation to recent signings plus 5m is overpriced. I can't see Boro getting promoted and neither do the bookies. Thomas Deng was released on a free transfer from Red Diamonds. I would have picked him up and given him a chance.

If Riley Mcgree hasn’t got the ambition then he’s not Celtic quality. He will sit in Middlesbrough for the rest of his career. If you work hard at Celtic you get noticed on a bigger market. Move on he’s not our type of player

I understand you like Celtic mate and obviously would have wanted him to go to yourselves, but it’s a bit disappointing to see an Aussie show little respect to Boro and Chris Wilder.
We’ve had some great Aussies play for us in the past with the likes of Viduka and Schwarzer being some of the best to play for you lot. The take you have on Wilder is also a tad weird, he took Sheffield Utd from league one all the way to premier league and shocked everyone in his first season in it. Yes the second season was awful but to judge him purely on that season seems a little reactionary to me given what he has achieved previously.
McGree looks like a quality player though and I’m looking forward to seeing what he can do in a Boro shirt.
