Ireland are a team that have been conceding screamers to teams that pretty much no one can name a single player on since the day that Kenny was appointed as manager. It's already happened with Luxembourg, Azerbaijan, Armenia and now this.
Good to see that Kenny is developing players and is willing to develop more such as Johnston by having the balls to select them. Maybe Kenny is not the right man to take us to our next major tournament, but he is the right man for right now when we need to develop our players and our style of play.
Mikey Johnston just knocking on the door…the same as with Celtic…flashes of brilliance but needs to finish… it's the difference between the player who makes a couple of brilliant runs and hits the post or stings the keepers hands… and the player who is clinical and scores two goals …still Mikey…well done…almost a man of the match appearance in 35 minutes…don't go back to Portugal…If another loan deal go to Germany… the Germans will make a finisher of you.
A win in is a win, although we still have some major defensive problems: the shambolic defending for the 2nd goal showed this. Giving away 2-goal leads regularly is not good, hopefully the coaching staff can change that.
I think, though, we all need to remember one thing: we all want the boys in green to step up a level, but some fans feel that SK is no longer the man to make that possible.
I will concede that the โ2-steps-forward-1-stepโ performances have been frustrating. That said, I still think it best to stick with SK, at least until weโve been eliminated from Euro 24. The reason? Look at the number of players he has given debuts to, and the impact they have had. A team that played so well against both Scotland and Portugal is not as bad as many of the โKenny out brigadeโ would believe. Besides, a new manager can only work with the players available to him, and it takes players time to adapt to a management change, interrupting the progress made to date.
One more things we need to remember: former Walesโ manager Chris Coleman took a long time to turn things around, but when given it, he succeeded. Giving SK this one more campaign is the best way for our lads to gel, improve as a team and so step as we all want them to. At least thatโs my opinion, if you disagree with me, do please be civil about it; hurling insults across the world is for little boys and girls, not adults. Can we at least agree on that?

Can't understand how Kenny is getting slated for an absolute screamer for the first and a massive deflection for the second
Kenny is not the man to take us forward as a national team. Not a proper manager. There needs to be a change.
I have to say, that first Latvia goal was INCREDIBLE ๐ฅ It's ok, we still won!

Smh still struggling against minnows. At least Ferguson got his debut goal that's what matters.

Great win for ireland………Kenny is doing a good job
Ireland are shit! Simple as!
i know this is stupid logic, but this win will give ireland a better chance of winning against france because of confidence
my claim will be supported even further if france lose against the netherlands
When I ain't supporting my country ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ณ๓ ฃ๓ ด๓ ฟ I am supporting. A second country ๐ฎ๐ช
Great centre forward play from Obafemi for the first ROI goal, totally killed the Latvia CB.
Celebrated a friendly win against Latvia like they qualified for the world cup, in front of a half empty stadium! Embarrassing
