Dunk and Solly march
To progress you have to evolve from certain players, it's time to move players like Maguire, Sterling and Walker on

Ward-Prowse doesn’t play CDM like Phillips does. We don’t have anyone else who can play Phillips’ position aside from Rice. Maybe Skipp? Also how well is Tomori actually playing? Milan are hardly having a good season and they seem to have conceded quite a few goals compared to the other teams around them in Serie A. I would have picked JWP over Gallagher and Dunk over Maguire. Solly March is just having a hot streak like Bowen. He’s playing well in a really functional side but needs to do it for longer if he wants to get in front of Saka/Rashford/Foden etc

Our big problem is we don't seem to be producing Centre halves in the same quality we had with Terry, Ferdinand, Campbell any more. The nearest we have to do them is John Stones. Why aren't CH coming through?
I rate Kalvin Phillips he does the shit side of the game that other players don't do and works well with Rice. I would have in the squad. I've never rated Southgate's love child Mason Mount, what does he do? Me personally I would Phil Foden in the centre of midfield dictating the ball to players like Grealish, Kane, Saka, Rashford but Sourgate won't do that. Could Reece James eventually be turned into a centre half?
What should've happened is Sourgate left after WC and we start this European Championship Qualifiers as a new era with a new manager who can take us to the next level. Sadly we will waste another 18 months with SourgateBall!

You opened with saying what a disastrous squad Southgate had named, and then the alternatives you came up with were Dan Burn, Lewis Dunk, James Ward-Prowse, Solly March and Callum Wilson… really? And then you say Solly March should be given half an hour over, presumably, Foden, Saka, Rashford or Grealish… against ITALY? Are you serious?
I get that you want new players in the squad, but it should've been pretty apparent from your list of alternatives that there are in fact NO new players to call upon. Seriously, which young English players have emerged since Bellingham? The answer is zero. There's no one there to refresh the team, unfortunately.
Centre Half is the only issue there’s no depth McGuire and stones are there all day our best 2 defenders dier shouldn’t be near the squad. That’s our best foward selection Watkins is in good form but isn’t getting in above foden saka rashford or grealish same with Wilson we have Kane and Tony for 1 position. Ward prowse good player but plays for Southampton who lose every week so there’s no chance he should be guarenteed a place
I don't understand why florian balogun isn't being considered. Look at England's FUTURE strikers its barron. Under the age of 26 there are no stand outs balogun fair enough playing in a poor league but still scoring quality chances against the big boys in ligue 1. Bring him in show him he is being seen he clearly has the Quality. Otherwise we will lose him to the Americans.
Why would Southgate pick certain new players for 2 vital Euro qualifiers against Italy and Ukraine when experience is essential particularly for the Italy match. If this was 2 friendly matches Southgate would undoubtedly look at new blood like he did in nations league back in June when we were crap so totally understood the squad he has picked and I think England will win both games
