Newcastle United Daily News. Callum Wilson Speaks Out.

Callum Wilson has had some very interesting things to say in an interview with the Evening Chronicle. He has been clearly frustrated with the system he was having to play under Steve Bruce with the continuing defensive tactics but he is clearly looking forward to scoring more goals in a more attacking team under Eddie Howe.

Coutinho has decided he is staying at Barcelona for now and fight for his place in the team.

Hoffman is leaving the Premier League in January. Goodbye to a very bad apple.

  1. We have good attacking players, it never made any sense to me why we were playing defensive when we have Maxi, Wilson, and Miggy to go on the front foot.

  2. At least either win, lose, or draw, we will enjoy watching our team play from now on. We have hope at last, the one thing we haven't had for over a decade. I've gone from checking our results, and watching highlights of our matches, to checking every single Newcastle blog, and forum, on the internet daily. The feeling is surreal.

  3. In a way you would think these PROFESSIONAL footballers would of eventually said to themselves fuck the tactics Bruce is saying and club together and do what they think is best way

  4. Callum Wilson should be our captain until we get a leader in. He's a sore loser, highly competitive, articulates himself well in interviews and knows how Eddie Howe likes to play. Can't think of a better person with who we have right now. Besides, how great would it be to have a number 9 as our captain again?

  5. Wilson will be like a dog let off the lead on Sat. Howe knows how to get the best out of him, if he stays fit he'll get you firing up the table.

  6. Attacking football is what Wilson, ASM, Fraser, Alrimon and the likes will thrive from instead of sitting back for the full 90mins with the hope of been able to counter attack.

  7. Hi Paul, in monetary terms I would say we are already part of the โ€˜Big 6โ€™ we just have to prove it on the field etc over the next few years. We are also heading towards being labelled with the maxim โ€˜Nobody likes us but we donโ€™t careโ€™ so letโ€™s enjoy every minute and wallow in our (potential) success. BTW, great daily updates worth Tooning in for!

  8. I've said it before Paul, but we are the big boy at the PL table now. They may be corrupt and dubious, but they're not dumb when it comes to lining their own pockets. How prepared are they to miss out on a bidding war for broadcasting rights when I have no doubt, Saudi goes after it.

  9. Great chat Paul, as Peter Proudlock would say "reely reely looking forward to the new look on Saturday reely reely looking forward to it", St James's will be rocking on Saturday, hope its the beginning of a new era….. Let's give Eddie a reely reely good welcome. I don't think Eddie will know what a welcome he's gonna get. Let's get behind the team and like you say Paul, let's hope the lads give it rock all……. HWTL, up tha toon!! Smb

  10. Paul, are you at all worried that since this guy is leaving. That the top 6 teams will do their best to get someone in that they will do everything that can to get Newcastle Owners out of this league.

  11. Great craik Paul, if the prem clubs don't want to do business we may have to look into European clubs who are cash strapped and want to off load end of contract players etc and hopefully we get a DOF who has good contacts out there. Facts show that better deals are done from outside the prem lge, a good DOF with scouts looking out for good young players who want to show their worth in prem lge is the way forward come jan transfer window. Let the big 6 and Co play their silly games, not saying we will win every bit of silverware going but with the future investment no doubt that will come in the infrastructure of the club and hopefully. we will be getting our club back to where we want to be. Having a go and not simply surviving bottom end of prem lge, being nearly boys…… Good luck Eddie and let's get behind the TEAM.

  12. Howe needs to teach St-Maximim to pass. In the Chelsea game Wilson was in acres of space just outside the box screaming for the ball and St-Maximim did plenty of the fancy footwork but didn't pass… That is one of the problems. No individual is going to win games but team work will.

  13. Hi Paul. Really enjoy your daily posts. Can I ask you though – re Hoffman's resignation. How much blame might be attached to the Toon takeover being successful being his biggest failure, or possibly the fall-out from the so-called big six failing spectacularly in their quest to up sticks from the Premier League? That treacherous money grab attempt must have been hugely embarrassing for him, to be leading an organisation that some of his greatest and most powerful clubs thought it best to dump the organisation he presided over.

  14. Now then. Enjoying your vids, subscribed. I'm a Darlo fan myself but really looking forward to seeing Newcastle tear a new one for all the established "giants" here and in Europe. Any success for the North East I welcome emphatically. In January I think NUFC should have a two pronged approach to buying, players that can improve the first 11 and local lads that can make the team or be quality back-ups. For example Lingard, Tarkowski types and Armstrong (Sot) Henderson (Liv) Burn (Brig) Toney (Bren) must be loads of NE lads in the Prem. I think having a contingent of "localish" lads in will add momentum to the fanbase growth and generally consolidate your support that are not the hardcore but have local affinity, if the players are good enough of course. Anyway very best wishes to you, I'm Darlo Till I Die but I will allow myself a quick "Up the toon" here,

  15. thats what i like to see! Players speaking out and saying exactly how they feel. it takes me back and reminds me of when Fab Schar said in front of the camera's " We Was Shit " true honestly from the lad i think the players should speak out more they are also entitled to an opinion.

  16. The toon has had no pattern of play for donkeys years , uts going to be nice re establishing our identity, attack, go out fighting.
Or like we used to say..
    GET INTO EM , F๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿ‘ŠK THEM UP . ๐Ÿ˜†

  17. Defensive football is out the window until you concede 3 per game ! Obviously you will play better football under Howe but i wouldn't get too excited Just Yet the Prem this Year is miles better than I can Ever remember the gulf in class from the top 6 and the rest is a Joke As a Villa fan i understand Bruce ball and get you want exciting football my point is Though Villa have a stronger squad the Newcastle in my opinion and we expected European Places this season and look where we are ? Points are hard to come by in The Premier league and i doubt reinforcments will be incoming until like you said your away from the bottom 3 Good luck except game Day Up The Villa
