Barcelona’s front line has been the subject of a lot of debate this season, and coach Xavi Hernandez has been unable to settle on a consistent front three. In particular, the left wing position has been a problem area.

So today we’re going in-depth on what I like to call the ‘Inside Forward’ role, and figure out what kind of player Barca need to sign for the long-term project.…

Unless, they don’t need to sign anyone at all?

  1. I'd sell Kessie, Ferran. Both struggle to combine with others in this team and use the funds to look for Amrabat/ Zubumendi as a pivot, then hope for Gundogan. Bring in the option of Abde or Carrasco for LW temporarily, Dembele and Raphinha can alternate flanks, Fati should become a LW-CF mix. That gives us plenty of options.

The midfield is far more urgent than the LW because it is here we crumble under the allowed physicality of European games because Gavi, Pedri, FDJ and Busquets leave our back 4 massively exposed.

  2. You guys forget one thing….
    They are 20 and 22 year olds…
    They have a huge future
And if you are a true Barca fan you would trust both youngsters
And wounlnt compare them with the others
    Understand greatness takes time
Let’s not forget ansu has scored great goals against Madrid
    And Ferran
Has scored 3 against the best goalkeeper in history
    Neuer
So let’s not forget what they are capable of

  3. I would wait more for Ansu. Ferran Torres can be more valuable in some other team as a staring player, all the opportunities he gets must pay off. There's Abde and also Raphinha or Dembele switching sides, while we see how Ansu learns and improves.

  4. I'm mostly agree with you but, did you see Ansu before the injuries he has been suffering in recent times? I guess his better position by far is a LW playing as a Inside Forward as you said. I usually watch all barca games and when he's playing as a central striker is completely lost and almost didn't touch any ball.

Personally I like Ferran more as a central striker than Ansu, though his best position is RW and opposite to Ansu he's completely lost as a LW with the IF role.

I'd like to see Angel Alarcon playing some minutes as a LW but we'll see what Xavi decides…

Cheers mate and thanks for your videos as always 🙂

  5. Pablo Torre would ball in that position I have no doubt about it. If only Xavi could give him enough chances

  6. Xavi Simons would be the best suited player for that position. He plays it flawlessly for PSV. If only we could try getting him back

  7. I accept the fact that Gavi is the man right now (LW) but Ansu doesn't do that bad. But Ferran Torres is useless. He should be loaned back to city

  8. an attacking player who can play either flanks or inside with loads of technical ability, creativity, decision making.. i present to you kang-in lee. he literally played cf, lw, rw, cm in a single game for mallorca vs sociedad last weekend. even played as left back briefly the game before. poor man's joao felix. or not. maybe even better. was destined to be 'the' valencian jewel ahead of ferran torres. he has everything, makes the right decision uncanny for his age sort of like pedri. elite set piece taker as well. he is not 'famous' because he sacrifices a lot for the team tactically, and mallorca defends most of the time, but he has taken mallorca to a new level alongside the striker muriqi. watch out for the name. was really impressed by him esp. the last two games.

  9. Gavi's only playing in the LIF role so Barca can fit all 4 of their midfielders together on the pitch. I don't think this is how Xavi actually wants to play.

It'd be a considerable investment signing someone to double down on a short term solution.
