Fulham have solidified themselves as a bang-average mid-table side (9th).
they’ve been the most impressive promoted side

Man Utd have won their last 5 away matches against Fulham in all competitions.
We’ll be playing them after an abysmal last league performance in the league against Villa, 3-1, whereas they’ll be facing us after holding their own against City, denied a point by a last-minute winner from you know who.
United are unbeaten at Old Trafford since the beginning of September against Sociedad.

How They Play
Fulham play with the 4231 system that can resemble a 4-1-2-3 when they go forward
Andreas Pereira’s fluid positioning makes it an awkward shape to pinpoint on the defensive end, but Silva’s men block in a well-organised 4-4-2 to 4-4-1-1 system.
Fulham stays very compact and structured for the majority of the time and build up through counterattacks through the pace of Dan James, Harry Wilson or Cordova-Reid down the sides.
They build out from the back in a 2/3 shape, with Robinson and Reid achieving symmetry on either side.
This leaves Palhinha as the central man in the single pivot; used to draw out the opposition’s midfield men, which creates space for Pereira to roam.
‘Route one’ style has also shown success for Fulham. Of course, launching passes long is never going to be the most attractive way of progressing the ball but can always be effective – especially with Mitrovic up front with him out injured, they don’t have the same focal point.
Fulham commit few men to counter-pressing the opposition and prefer to regain their shape first. This is going to be very frustrating to play against and watch.

Predicted XI:
Leno – Robinson, Ream, Diop, Reid – Chalobah, Palhinha, Wilson, Andreas Pereira, James – Vinicius

Star Man for Fulham
Andreas Pereira
Has been pivotal to Fulham’s successes and has appeared to have a new lease of life

Their prime creator

Dangerous from set pieces, whether it’s direct or his set piece delivery

2 goals and 4 assists in the league this season

Match Winner for Man Utd
Garnacho
Starboy has a spark about it; seems to be a player that thrives off confidence too.

Has shown he can be impactful (2 assists in the week)

We will need his directness, 1v1 ability and his capability of taking a man out of the game

Right Back is an area of concern for Fulham with injuries

How To Beat Fulham
Passing
Fulham will be playing a low counter-attacking line so we will need to pass around them
We need to improve our passing in the final third to break down the back line, inch-perfect crosses from the likes of Eriksen will be massively needed.
Quick passes from the back line will be vital to get the ball in their half before they structure themselves into a wall – counterattacks will have to be vital.

Pressing
Fulham likes to be cautious with play, so we need to force them to make a mistake – pressuring players like Andreas Perreira into losing the ball could win us the game.
We can’t make the game comfortable for them as we can’t have another 50/50 game which we don’t control – keeping the tempo high will be key.

Shots
We drastically need more shots off on goal.
United struggled to get that first goal because we didn’t take enough risks – with Bruno coming back into the fray, this should hopefully be better
Leno isn’t the greatest keeper around, so we need to test the keeper instead of trying to find the perfect opportunity.

  1. We need signings in JAN ! Felix for ST, Caicedo for CM n Kim Min Jae for CB n get rid of the trash like McFred Maguire lindlof n we could win the league let alone top 4!

  2. “Andreas Pereira and Dan James Need Containing” – those are words I never thought I would see on this channel 😂 Especially outside of pre season

  3. Fulham on the same point as Liverpool 😢 I didn’t notice Fulham are this bad 🥹 Damn Fulham needs to step up and stop leveling with average teams

  4. It’s unbelievable how bad some people are at judging talent. The amount of clueless fans who blindly defended Dan James while he was at Man Utd saying he was talented and a good buy 😂

  5. Lindeflop starting is a bad omen. However Malacia on the right instead of a very out of form Dalot cannot be that bad. Rest of the team looks fine but I would rather see us try a skewed 4-4-2 (90s SAF style) with this selection you picked Howson. I can see Eriksen do a job for us on the right and I think Rashy and Tony work best together.

  6. I'd rather see Rashford on the right. That Villa game with Bruno on right had him invisible for most of the game. As soon as he came centrally he started to shine again.

  7. Hey Ste, I’ve been following your Twitter for a while now, but finally made my way over to the channel a couple of weeks ago. I look forward to all of your videos as you’re very insightful. Hope you have a blast at the WC 🙌

  8. I don't think the experiment with Bruno on the right has worked. I get what we are trying to do but we lose a lot of his creativity and he isn't a threat in behind

  9. Preferred Team Selection: 4.3.3 – DeGea, Malacia, Lindelof, Martinez, Shaw, Casemiro, McTominay, Bruno/Eriksen, Rashford, Ronaldo/Martial & Antony

Subs: Heaton, WamBa, Malacia, Lindelof, Fred, Bruno, Zidane, Gernacho, Sancho, Martial & Elanga,

  10. Martial’s hold up play and contribution in the build up should help us so much with our decisiveness in the final 3rd something we’ve been missing all season

  11. I only started watching football a couple months ago – can anyone explain in layman terms why they can't play Garnacho & Sancho at the same time? They both look pretty good at dribbling past opponents, so like, can't they just work together to dribble past the defense??

  12. peirera i always like him but united fans hate this lad so he have to move on,but me knowing futball i always see there a player in periera.and for Don james i know he have no brain but i like him he have his time wen he will hurt team.
