      Sir Alex should take a stand for the club , if for nothing else then for his legacy ,the club he built with his sweat and tears is going to the dogs ,the least he can do is issue a public statement asking the Glazers to treat the club with the respect and reverence it deserves

      I'm a united fan, but the idea united are worth 6 billon on 'potential' is laughable. Potential is only potential. This is why people on Dragon's den get mocked for their valuations being pie in the sky. It's not like United are the only great club in the world. Financial times reported club is worth more like 1.5 billion. That seems a bit low, but it does give an indication of true commercial value compared to Glazer's ludicrous valuation. How they expect someone to pay 6 billion and another nearly 2 on top to fix the club is really mind-blowing. Maybe they are just trying to drive share price/ attention up before selling off another small part of it?

      I suspect a lot of this is very careful negotiation from the Glazers. Appear at the game (in fairness it's a cup final, why wouldn't he be there, it's only glory in years) ticket hike could be done strategically to make it seem like they want to stay long term, leak stories to media of family not wanting to sell, and maintain that only a massive offer will tempt them. In terms of a negotiation play, this is the natural, smart move.

      In terms of the Glazers, I get the feeling they are the nicest scumbags in the world.

      I think they know exactly what they're doing.
      That's why they lured a huge shark in that can afford to pay up.
      It's just a negotiation tactic.
      I predict they will sell anyway at £5b or above.
      They didn't appoint The Raine Group just to brag on social media.
      They have a plan and they want to see it through.

      They released a statement from the get-go that they were looking to raise funds (and not neccesserily sell) in order to modernise the facilities. Why else would the initiate the process of upgrading OT?

      It was obvious from then that they would need a ludicrous offer to sell. Why would merchants look to exit football when there is the prospect of making exponentially more.

      Glazers hv the bargaining power rn bcz he knew United got the right manager..
      plus United doesnt really need money for the players, only for the facilities..
