I hope there’s some improvement in the upcoming games. Time and again we have tried playing expansive football in KO games and it has bit our arse. A CB signing in January is absolutely needed. And we need to control possession more often

Hope everyone who is dooming over a league stage match in October is listening closely

    3. PSG is cryptonite against Flick tactics. I think we will beat the rest of the teams easly, but Flick needs to make adjustments against PSG.

His point is the same that I’ve heard many analysts make over the last week

These games are great for fans and to test who is really the best team in Europe right now early in the season.

But really this phase of the tournament is not extremely meaningful. In any tournament it’s all about who finishes the best, like with both Spain 2010 and argentina 2022 losing their first game.

Sometimes a loss can motivate a team. But losing to the reigning champs away isn’t the end of the world here, but hopefully a lesson we learn from.

      Hopefully

sorry but flick, you need to use your full fucking squad if you wanna manage injuries and still expect good scorelines against big clubs and go to win ucl

look at city. foden starts one game and gets benched for the next two. sometimes its semenyo, ndaiye, cherki or whoever fits the position. same with defence. dias, guehi, khusanov and gvardiol rotate depending on the game, with gvardiol even playing lb when needed. thats how you manage a squad.

you cant expect bernal to drop raijkard lvl performance by playing him straight up as a destroyer out of nowhere against the best team in the world

why the fuck wouldn’t you give balde minutes even in smaller games? cancelo was clearly the wrong choice for these big games. he’s not as explosive as balde, doesn’t have the same recovery pace and can’t track back as effectively. now you’ve barely used balde, damaged his development and confidence.

you can’t even sell him for a good price or confidently start him regularly.

kounde looks finished too, and cancelo has never been someone i’d trust in big games.

you can’t ignore half your squad all season and then expect miracles when injuries hit..

    6. One match is one match, but our defense has been very poor all season. Anyone with two eyes know this

I’m not even gonna say anything because what I was about to say would be extremely negative. I just gonna say back in the days when win CL Barcelona got a big wining mentality. We lose and Hasi and the players don’t look like they give a shit. If we don’t won the CL or perform against big teams we are a joke. Can’t tell last we performed against a big team. Atletico and Inter knocked we out for fuck sake

    8. Okay. But the team better not come out looking slow and defeated in the Classico. After all they are rested and should have high morale after this defeat.

    9. In my humble opinion , is not that “4-2” was a bad result , it’s that PSG were head and shoulders above us for a lot of moments of the game and Joan Garcia and Ferran Torres bailed us out big time.

While I do give value to our two goals , those two goals against competent goalkeepers is a different story

PSG were super relentless on attack and defence.

It’s the usual story of “i am hoping the players learned from this” , and then by April or May the same shit happened lol

Well clearly Hansi hasn’t visited this sub yet because we’ve just lost the world cup + champions league + Euro + Club world cup today

    11. Good response, today was a great test for the team.

We have a huge game on Sunday and another massive UCL test against Man City.

    12. No problem with the loss, but he should have taken out Lamine at 1-1. No sense in trying to win this game with el clasico nearby. Also, Gavi is not at this level yet.

I know this game is not really that important. But my biggest concern is that we had our first test this season against a BIG team at UCL and we failed, same as we have for the last two years, except against Bayern (unless you count Borussia Dortmund as one of the really big clubs). Will we be able to beat City in December? What if we face Arsenal, Liverpool or even Real Madrid at knockouts. Can we actually beat one of the big ones in this competition?

    14. PSG is just the best team in the world by a decent margin. Beating Man City then Barca within 7 days of each other is impressive. No reason why they can’t be caught in 6 months though. They have almost zero weaknesses. Mendy was out and the replacement did more then hold his own against Yamal but scored.

    15. It’s not about the fact that we lost. It’s about the fact how we lost. The passing was atrocious. At times they were directly passing to PSG players.

Except for the fabulous goal Lamine was really bad. The desire goal was his mistake alone.

Only good players were pedri Xavi and Joan.

Even Gordon killed so many counters with his back passing.

The team looked casual in approach and it felt after the two equalisers they were happy playing for a draw. This is where psg killed the game.

    16. Everyone is so pressed that we lost this game.

The goal at this stage in the Champion’s League is to make the Top 8, then you build enough lead in La Liga wherein we get crowned early and focus the starters on the group stages.

I’ve seen a lot of upside in today’s game but by god Lamine needs to double down on his flairs because two of those goals came when he was sloppy in the ball.
