Steven Gerrard speaking about Bradley Barcola's performances against LASK and Brentford:
“The hat-trick against LASK was really important for him personally. Confidence, belief, the feeling that you've really made it to Liverpool after a big price tag and a big summer transfer.
Then to back that up with another strong performance and provide an assist, I think we were so close to a huge boost if he had scored that goal in the one-on-one. He still played really well, still looked like a threat. The one-on-one was a big moment for him.
That would have been beautiful.”

I like how he (Gerrard) is always straight to the point, no bullshit forced controversial opinions, just honest assessments.
I’m very happy with barcola, I think he’s playing very well and I think his partnership with wirtz could be huge down the line. That being said, I feel like that 1-1 would’ve been an easier finish with his left, bending to not the goal. Also, he was very poor on the breakaways towards the end of the game. Again, I think he’s doing well and I’m thrilled to have him, just food for thought. Anyone else see that or am I out here in left field?
Stevie is a fantastic pundit. He’s spot on about Barcola and he gives me even more confidence that we are on the right track.
