    1. Good to see Alysson start. Garnacho doesn’t make the bench. Glad to see Harwood- Ballis closer to a start

Im so confused with Mings. Pau is essential to the way we play, unless he thinks because of Suzuki he doesn’t need Paus passing as much.

    3. A few surprises but probably not completely ridiculous ones. Pau probably not ready for two starts in one week. Mbaye ran himself ragged and had that little injury scare when he came off.

Great to see a start for Alysson. Tammy not in the squad and Madjo on the bench is interesting after what Unai said the other day. Hope we can see some of Madjo against a tired defence later in the game.

Pau seems to be being managed, if this was going to be the case we maybe should have looked at a left centre back in the summer because I’m not sure I’m comfortable with tyrone playing this much in 2026.

    5. It’s possible that the Kamara-Gomes partnership will work out in the future, but their skillsets are similar.

Eventually, when Goretzka is up to speed, I would like to see him paired with either Kamara or Gomes. On paper, this would be a more balanced pairing.

Garnacho and Abraham off the squad, goretzka, madjo, and hardwood bellis on. Nice. I know we hate the Mings start, but this is how unai manages legs

Excited to see Alysson exploit the space but deeply worried whenever Ginny doesnt start. Gonna be a fun ride

    8. Madjo on the bench and no Abraham.

Once Maatsen, Ruggeri, Hemmings and Cissé are back fit, the competition just to be on the bench will be crazy.

So much whingeing and not a single mention of Buendia starting. I guess we will call that progress?

    10. I imagine we’ve made some of the more frustrating changes in order to manage minutes. Newcastle away is usually a physical game and losing Torres, McGinn or Mbaye to a long term injury would really screw us.

Happy to see Goretzka and Madjo on the bench. Hoping they get some serious minutes. Would like to see a THB start sooner or later but maybe this isn’t the game to do that.

      Feeling hopeful from Wednesday! UTV!

    11. The talk was that garnacho wouldn’t have been in the squad for the spurs game had alysonn not had a knock. Now madjo and Goretzka are in, i think this will happen more often

    12. We won 3 of the 10 matches McGinn didn’t start last season.

Now check the win ratio for matches Mings plays in.

Wouldn’t it make sense to play thb in these games then play mings in ucl as thb isn’t registered? Trust unai though

Call me crazy, but I LOVE the fact Alysson is starting. He deserves a chance just as much as Mbaye does.

      Hope he does great!

    15. Cool to see Alysson start and Mbaye off the bench later could be useful I guess. Just disappointed Pau’s minutes have to be managed. I don’t think our league campaign gets off the ground until he’s playing tbh

Never know how to predict these games v Newcastle but I’m more pessimistic seeing the line up.

Starting line up seems like we’re prioritising mid week against Viking. Anything we get here is a bonus.

    17. Madjo on the bench over Tammy. I see a late winner by the big boy! Not sad about this lineup at all!

    18. I believe we will over run them in the second half…

      Bold prediction:
      Madjo to score

      4-2 Villa
