ON THIS DAY 2022:
One year on from the takeover, Newcastle’s new high pressing approach saw one of the best performances under Howe so far.
The first goal came after a corner was taken short before Trippier whipped a cross for an unmarked Bruno to head home.
Our press led to a Brentford losing the ball to Isak, who played in Murphy to slot in a second.
Toney got one back from the spot before Bruno won the ball back in midfield, running towards the Gallowgate unchallenged, and then smashed one in from outside the box.
Again, high pressing from Miggy saw him dispossess a centre back, round the keeper, and add a fourth.
The final goal came as ASM played Joelinton down the wing, who crossed the ball in, and it deflected in as an own goal.
Some great goals, a new blonde Bruno, high pressing saw us capitalise into forced mistakes. What a year it had been.
Always said David Raya was shit.
