      We have traumatized each and every team in the pl for years on end

      It’s natural they’re crawling out the woodwork trying to leach onto this

      When Chelsea and others were getting charges we didn’t care. It doesn’t affect us. When Newcastle got a take over we were one of the few teams to stand alongside them and advocate for their right to express their ambition for the club.

      They didn’t break ffp rules. Why? Because they are the status quo. It’s okay for them to do it. But nobody else okay guys? U have to accept this

      I’m willing to engage in good faith discussions about the FFP stuff and changing the financial landscape of the Prem, but the fact is that a lot of the discourse is being put out there by vultures who are jealous of what City has done on the football pitch and they just want to rewrite history in their favor. That kind of dialogue is not rooted in fact, it’s rooted in tribalism, emotion, and engagement bait — no good can come from that.

      Look at how the league has treated Chelsea and Newcastle for example. Chelsea are dinged for 70+ violations and basically get hit with a minor fine. Newcastle (who were hoping to take advantage of cash injections from their new owners) are forced to sell off many of their best players to meet “PSR.” It’s very clear to me that there are rules for some but not for others when it comes to how money is allowed to make a club competitive.

      As an easter egg, I want nothing more than for city to incorporate 114 into a future kit. Something subtle but petty.

      Because spending is tied to revenue, clubs with massive global fanbases, historic stadium capacities, and perennial Champions League football can naturally spend hundreds of millions more than smaller clubs.

      When a team acquires a new owner , they are restricted from spending as much as historically wealthy teams. This serves to ensure that historically rich teams stay at the top and make it impossible for smaller teams to challenge

      Did we break the rules yes did we deserve to be punished yes but is the trophies won null well every prem club have money but does it mean they will win the titles nope if we had given the same dollars with the same amt we spend they will win the prem are you sure they will your answer will be maybe not yes money can buy you players not the league I can give you a billion dollars and you still be a mid table team the thing is how you spend it where you spend it if we didn’t win the pre, they would have said bottle jobs who couldn’t even win with those breaches the narrative doesn’t change and so we

      we have to remember the league and the other teams in it are not two different things

      the league IS the teams

      i don’t quite get Khaldoon’s thing about the league being impartial — the members of the league each represent their own interests. that’s how leagues work.

      The interesting thing in all of this is that I’ve actually seen a lot of Newcastle and Chelsea fans defending City amidst all of this (Everton fans have been the most prominent on my social media channels), while there’s nothing but crying from Arsenal, Liverpool and United fans.
