The problem with MLS is the single entity it has. RBNY has to sell Long for at least 10 million plus so it can get a decent amount back. With MLS being a single entity and if RBNY sells Long at 3 or 4 million, a certain percentage goes to MLS front office. MLS clubs don't keep 100% of any profit they make by selling players, a % goes to MLS. That is why RBNY wants to over price a player like Long. The problem is not RBNY, the problem is how MLS is structured.
i dont like mls but can u really blame them? red bulls dont have anyone left they lost adams and can't afford to lose aaron long..if i were to bet money long will be a bench warmer in the premier league
Drew, just a comment from this simpleton. The more international stars we have on our USMNT the better. Also, why would Red Bulls be holding this particular player back when they let another Red Bull go to Bundasliga already. Maybe there's more to the story. Bottom line, you gotta let birds fly, so yeah, this kid should get to as high a level as possible to reach his full potential and I'm for it. The MLS can be looked at at a gateway to higher leagues instead of retirement league (Isn't that what Olmiron-former Atlanta United did). I had no idea about any of this before I watched your video though. Keep kicking it!
I am a NYRB fan and Aaron Long is a good MLS caliber player. He is not a player who is going to do much in a top 4 league. Long would be better suited for the Championship than the Premier League.
CONCACAF is guaranteeing the USMNT a spot in the next world cup with the new qualifying format and it is GROSSLY UNFAIR. They are using FIFA ranking and the USMNT has always been ranked much higher than it should be.
I'm impressed so far with Aaron Long as a defender. If I was the USMNT head coach I'd stick to a 4-4-2 lineup with Sargent and Jozy leading the attack and a very strong midfield with Pulisic, Mckennie, Adams, and Morales. For defending Dest, Brooks, Long, and Yedlin. As for goalkeeper I will always prefer Horvath over Steffen simply because he's been more proven at the club level. This might possibly be one of our strongest lineups yet, if I could I'd contact GB let him know to stop calling up players like Zardes, Bradley, Trap and Gonzalez..they should no longer wear a US jersey ever again.

Drew Aaron Long is a phenomenal player but he won't get the playing time he gets at MLS anywhere else.
