  1. Reliable for Spurs, sounds likes he’s the “bomba” attacker De Zerbi was referring to.

  2. I don’t mind selling Gakpo, but we then need ANOTHER forward in addition to Munoz and Barcola, which is a lot of work to do when we need a CB / RB.

All yours for £150 million, Spurs. (Using Gordon transfer as valuation yardstick)

  4. I still have a feeling Barcola is a Gakpo replacement on the left and we got other plans on the right.

Didn’t have the best year last year (I mean other than Szoboszlai, who did?), but I think it would be silly to sell.

He looked great before the contract renewalz

Don’t tell me Barcola is his replacement. Ekitike’s injured our forwards depths are already thin as it is, unless we sign another winger.

We’d be giving ourselves even more to do in a window in which we’ve done very little.

    Season starts in 22 days.

  8. What? Seriously? He might not have been good last season, but he still put up numbers far from being called “bad”. And most of all, hes our only attacker that was consistently available.

We still have too many problems, selling him will just be creating another one. Unless they fork over 120m or something, then I really dont wanna see this deal happen.

  9. So we recoup barcola money by selling him then who plays on the RW ? Kieran morrison?

  10. If Barcola is Gakpo replacement I wouldn’t sell him we simply just don’t have the depth to be competitive next season

Now if we sell him and bring in a player who’s more naturally a RW then I’d be happy to sell

Wouldn’t surprise me if Gakpo wants to go as he got nothing but public hate last season

The attitude towards him was pathetic on here and other places

  12. If we get Barcola then him, Rio and Munoz are plenty for LW, we’d need to buy a RW

Gakpo cannot provide enough assists to Isak, he just isn’t that type of winger.

He struggles to take on his man or get in behind, he doesn’t stretch the defensive line.

He interferes and occupies some of the space Wirtz needs to operate in.

None of this is to say he’s a bad player, he’s got a great shot on him when they’re not blocked. However he just isn’t right for this version of Liverpool.

I’m all for selling him and bringing someone else in.

Another winger in after Barcola and then hopefully Chiesa goes. We’ll be set up too then.

  14. No issues selling him but the money needs to be quickly reinvested in another attacker.

We are very very slow and new players will need time to settle in.

Really dumb decision to let Hughes manage this window when his focus is elsewhere.

  15. Please for the love of god stop selling players without any replacements coming in. The lack of depth in this squad will cripple us this season

  16. Unsure if people realise that Barcola and Gakpo both play on the left along with Munoz. We need a RW.

If we can get 100m for Gakpo, I’ll help him pack his bags.

Thing with Gakpo is he’s just not good enough to start every game if you want to win things. A bit like Trossard, he’s a decent back up but you need better to win leagues and CLs. I don’t mind him as a back up but if we can get Diaz money for him we should definitely sell.

  18. He is one of the top earners at the club. Selling him frees up the wage bill for someone else.

If it’s Gakpo out and Rayan in then I’m all for it, but I’m really sure that Gakpo can be better this season for the rest and competition for his spot. Same for Macca. If we sell and get good money then ok, but these are premier league winners who had rough seasons for us, if Iraola thinks they elevate the team then after what we’ve seen so far in pre season we should trust him

  20. I’ve never been Cody’s biggest fan, but how the fuck can we possibly sell him right now?
