  1. Hard to be raging when surely, everyone has seen this coming for weeks.

Huge month in the transfer window.

  2. wildcharmander1992 on

Attackers were far too selfish. We could’ve scored 2-3 where a player was in an unmarked perfect position but they decided to take a shot themselves instead of passing that either was instantly blocked or miles wide

I don’t think chermiti passed once in the game even when he looked like he was only staying together with gaffer tape

  3. Where’s Raskin & Souttar when you need them. Fear the worst Rangers team in the making. Devlin decent however he’s no Raskin’s Quality tbf

the number of people who had a go at me for saying signing worse players than celtic have wont win us a title.

    Went quite quiet.

I know it early doors, but that was as bad as anything from martins short tenure.

  5. Play like that against Jagiellonia Bialystok and we will be in the Conference league.

Throw Diomande in the clyde on the way back to Ibrox, honestly easier than selling him

  7. Ok_Beginning_8016 on

We can’t play 2 up front in away games, we need width and fast. Big Andrew get the check book out.

Wingers, potentially another cb now if Godfrey’s injury is serious and a left back. Always knew today would be a rough watch, let’s just hope we actually bring in the players we know we need.

  9. Curtis was brought on far too late. And having to play alongside McCrorie must feel like a punishment

  10. DisasterouslyInept on

Looks to be yet another year where we’re relying on individual brilliance and masses of low-quality chances to get goals. No idea what the plan is going forward, and defensively we’re all over the place.

  11. MagicManGreg on

Good job we prioritised signing clogger midfielders over anyone with any ability.

Tragic performance as expected when the likes of Gassama and Diomande are starting games.

  12. JazzlikeOwl6340 on

Chermiti was gash the final 10 minutes. Selfish player. Should’ve squared it to Shankland.

  13. Same old shite and fuck off McCrorie , Devlin . Nico was a big miss . No fight.

  14. Missingno1990 on

Arse guard looked decent in phases. Nice wee 20 minute spell in the second half. Everything else was shite.

Fuck being Findlay Curtis and waiting 80 minutes to come on to that shite.

Diamonde absolutely stinking up the joint tonight. Get him to fuck please.

  16. I’ll take the point after the players shat it in the first half. Desperately need wingers, but some brilliant play from Aasgaard and Devlin was good. Some of the comments in the match thread were honking.

  17. So he brought Curtis on and every time mcrorie got the ball he turned back. After 8 transfers I feel like we need to start from scratch!

  18. That squads is not ready yet for the season, we really need to get some players in, no projects or injury prone players, but players with talent and some creativity.

Bolster the defence and get some good wingers in and things should improve.

Probably should judge how we are once the window shuts as I believe if we get players in, we will be better.

Suppose a positive is, Theo looks miles better than last season and hopefully it continues.

  19. We looked like Hearts. Trying to grind out a goal. Watching McCrorie in the 2nd half made me really miss Tav. Playing two centre forwards but not one single cross put into the box for them

Thought McInnes watched all the games from last season, how can you still play Dioshortpass and Gasbag. If you can’t even put in the same effort as utd players on day 1 you should be punted out the club. Long season already

  21. GlasgowAnvil on

    That was chronic.

Picked the wrong 11. Gassama should be an impact sub when games open late on.

No need for Devlin and Neil to be on the park at the same time in a game like this

    Wingers desperately needed.

Levels of negativity here are ridiculous. 1st competitive game of the season (Dundee United already played a few cup games) and it’s clear McInnes is going to need to time work out his best 11.

    Key takeaways for me were:

    – we should be starting Chermiti and one other. Naderi worked quite well with him last season so would be trying that out in the next game.

    – midfield seems all over the place to me. We have enough good players in there that we shouldn’t be bypassing them and trying to actually control the game. Again I think it will take a while to land on the right combination in there.

    – Pandur already looks streets ahead of Butland which is a major positive.

    – as we are all aware we need a couple of wingers.

I really hope the supporters don’t just jump on the negativity train here. There is a long way to go and points will be dropped by our rivals.

  23. I get that Curtis is young and not the “finished article” but for me he is blatantly our best winger and most likely player to actually make something happen, should be starting that game

  24. VictorAnichebend on

Awful that. Devlin looked absolutely terrified to make a mistake which I wasn’t expecting. Neil coming on in the second half at least gave them a foothold in midfield, which was nonexistent in the first half.

Not saying anything groundbreaking here but there’s just a complete lack of width and pace in this team. Quality too to be fair.

  25. Kinda picking up where we left off, even with all the changes. Chermitti getting the ball after his defender fell and then not passing to either of two wide open guys and trying a tough angle pretty much summed everything up – just a disappointing match for the most part. 😒

  26. Only-Treacle6565 on

Devlin isn’t a player, clattering into guys in friendlies is pish chat. Barron is way beyond anything that lad will ever amount to in a football sense.
Fire Diomande into the first club that’ll take him.
Neil hid as soon as he came on, not a leader.

Literally had no game plan, nothings changed.

  27. McInnes better realise, fast, that we need improvements everywhere, and who isn’t good enough.

  28. That wasn’t very good but I kinda expected it.

Still relying on way too many from last year and the fact we have so little quality in wide areas just now meant tonight happening was just all so predictable.

Just got to try and get to the end of the transfer window getting as many good results as we can muster as we piece the team together.

  29. CindysExtraTesticle on

I don’t see where goals are coming from this season. Midfield and front have went backwards and are utter dross. Goal keeper and defense seem at bit improved at least.

  30. Looks like similar issues to last season.

    1. Switch off against a team who want it more to concede our defensive nonsense.
    2. We get a goal and then we fall asleep for 20 minutes and let Dundee Utd grow back into the game. They really should have nicked it at the end.
    3. No creativity and no game changing subs that can make a difference.

Over to you Del, this can’t be a great surprise for you.

  31. Unlikely-Pie3905 on

I can’t believe we thought it would be a good idea to start that season with pretty much no wingers. Celtic have shown for years that having direct wingers is the best way to break down teams who sit in. Why on earth we signed so many central midfielders who all do the same job again raises worrying questions.
I am also very sceptical of Devlin. Fingers crossed I am wrong but I really don’t think he adds that much and screams McInnes just bringing him over in hopes of carrying over what he had at Hearts.
