Ansu Fati won the hearts of the Barcelona faithful during his debut season. A 16 year old talent, with a very bright future, emerged during a gloomy period for the Catalan club.

But three years on, his career has not kicked on. Injuries have mounted up, but why have they affected him so severely?

Laia Cervelló Herrero looks at what happened to Ansu Fati. Philippe Fenner illustrates.

  1. Every time I see him receive the ball now, I know he will just pass it back and play passively. Before the injuries he used to be aggressively and runs towards defenders, dribbles, shoots take chances

  2. Every single detail that comes out about the Barto era is so fishy. How was Barto not there but to destroy the club? another absolutely crazy story. so sad.

  3. His numbers are still good and better than other expensive wingers like sancho. And he’s not even starting. He’s still very dangerous and clinical he’s not just getting enough minutes.

  4. As someone who had meniscus surgery exactly 1 year ago, I'm still feeling some pains and tenderness. I can play soccer again and run around and chase my son, but I'm still not 100%. I had to take it SLOOOOWWW at the start for the first month after the surgery. I can totally see that rushing Fati back was such a major factor in all the subsequent injuries. I feel sorry for him. Hopefully he fully recovers, but by now, I have my doubts.

  5. As a Galatasaray but first Football fan it makes me sad see this Video.
He is young. I saw Cristiano and Messi playing before they were 18.
Ansu was like them when they where 16.
    So give him some time.
I'm sure he will be the best player for a few years atleast! He will play 10-12 Years on top level minimum, you will see.

  6. Imagine a healthy and confident Fati with Gavi and Pedri playing they way they are now, hopefully his career doesn't become one of those "What if" types…

  7. From 2019 i don't like this player and i predicted he is not that good and he can't handle this no 10 responsibility i literally don't like this player playing style literally no sense he has in hi gameplay
