I absolutely love that we buy the best English players, really gives the team a strong sense of identity. He could go for more than Declan.
One thing that is becoming clear over the last season, and especially during this WC, is that long shots are a key skill now. It can break open games against well drilled defenses, almost like a cheat code. Rather than 50+ passes and a perfect 1-2 combo towards the byline that still needs the right ball and the right finish, if you have a guy that can just cut in for a shot and put it top corner you just bypass the brick wall.
Rogers is one of those cheat codes. Eze as well. We are stockpiling these guys capable of over performing xg as they can bail us out of a draw. I’m also hoping we recruit midfielder (like Bouaddi or Kanu) that we feel more comfortable leaving as a lone 6, so that Rice can also push forward a bit more and unleash some shots.

I think he is a great player and have for a few seasons. Also young with room to improve.
But does he play LW? Because if not with Eze and Ode the central/ right sided attacking 8s. Do we have room for another player in that role.
Maybe this means someone’s on the way out in a season or two? Or Ode moving to a more deeper role which we have seen him in before.
