[Ornstein] If Rashford returns to #MUFC 28yo’s preference is to honour contract (2028) rather than join another PL side. Marcus Rashford deal at Man Utd includes £40m clause for all clubs bar #MCFC & #LFC.

  1. Employee will continue working for current employer if no one else hires him. More news at 10.

Who knows? Maybe with the change of management and improved mood around the place he’ll get back to his old self.

Anyone want a hit of this copium? It’s strong shit.

  3. I can see this happening as a total marriage of convenience. We can’t sell him, he’ll settle for us if he can’t return to Barcelona.

Neither party is particularly happy with the arrangement but neither one has enough leverage to make an exit happen.

This feels like they’re manufacturing consent to ease fans on the possibility of him returning. Personally, he should be sold it’s a step backward honestly.

  5. People on this sub are pathetic, the man got a bumper contract and downed tools. Turned his back on the club and the fans, claimed he took a pay cut when he lost 25% from missing champions league which was his “pay cut” and people want to bring him back. Get to fuck.

also call me a conspiracy theorist but you just can’t tell me it’s a coincidence that we’re getting reports of Rashford possibly being reintegrated within the exact same article that suddenly mentions, as an exclusive I might add, that we’re willing to greatly overspend on some average pl winger like Summerville.

Just seems like the club trying to gauge the reaction and soft-launch the narrative of there being “no value in the market” and thus Rashy staying being the obious choice.

Players like Said El Mala or Bazoumana Toure are available for similar fees and you can’t tell me anyone in our scouting department believes Summerville to be better than either of them.

not a fan of this at all

  7. I have no problem with Rashford coming back – the team has changed a lot since he’s been away. And he’s been in decent form at Barcelona. I think a lot of people’s opinions may change if he has a good World Cup.

Hopefully the board will be able to get rid. I wish this man the best for the rest of his career, but it cannot continue in Old Trafford. Earns too much money, doesn’t press to save his life, bad attitude on the pitch (throws his arms up when losing the ball). The press would also make a big deal out of everything if he stays.

He has to go. Cannot be reintegrated to the team, IMO.

  9. I don’t quite understand this. When was this deal added to his £360k a week contract? There’s no way he had a £40m release when he signed if.

He doesn’t actually want to come back. This is part of the dance. Don’t give me what I want and I’ll sit on my fat contract.

It is a Champions League season. However Cunha needs to be cemented as the starter.

Having Rashford on the bench is a hell of a sub to bring on to be fair.

As much as I’d rather him be sold it’s not the end of the world if he comes back.

Backup option on the left, increases squad depth.

Obviously the wages are a lot.

  13. I believe this is his move so we can renegotiate with Barca for a lower price.

  14. Sounds like early noise for his return to utd and integration into the first team.

    Second chances and all that

  15. He doesn’t even deserve to rot in the reserves. Just let him train alone, in a prison cell-like room, for 8 hours a day. Mock him every day on social media, run PR campaign against him like he did against us. The club can take the financial hit. But we need to make an example out of him.

  16. If he does stay(and let’s face it, it’s a very big “if”)-the Amazon “All or Nothing” with him in it should be interesting.
