Absolute insanity. Just as we all thought this summer was going to be smooth sailing. Wtf has gone on behind the scenes. If he was retiring I could obviously understand it but clearly it’s something else. Dan Ashworth leaving was perhaps one of the worst things things that happened since the takeover, it started a chain reaction of bullshit every single summer.

I just wish we had prime Graham Carr and his team for recruitment with Saudi money behind him. The gems he discovered on a shoe string were incredible

Nickson did as much as he could when he arrived during an area of no recruitment infrastructure and at times having to operate in a temporary metal container in the Academy car park. Sad to see him go.

Terrible time for it to happen, but while Nickson was obviously well-regarded I’m not sure he was necessarily the best in class appointment we’d eventually need.
Seems like there are a lot of outgoings in key back room positions this summer where we’d been treading water since the takeover.
