[Kieran Maguire] This case has huge implications for Clubs who feel they were disadvantaged by Chelsea’s breach of the Premier League rules, and, IF found guilty, Clubs who may have lost out to Manchester City for trophies and Champions League places.

Not a lawyer but how I read this is that clubs can now sue us if there is a direct impact to them from our breach of financial regulations under Roman. Say during the times when we have won a cup final or secured a UCL spot over a rival during the specific years we were found to have breached rules.

Clubs could sue for “loss of chance”. In essence, they can claim our rule-breaking unfairly deprived them of the prize money, broadcasting revenue, etc that come with those achievements. But there needs to be an verdict of our breach for that to happen

EDIT: Lol why am I being downvoted, I was just interpreting the ruling. Don’t shoot down the messenger

EDIT 2: Not saying there is an issue now as there is no ruling yet like the Everton case, just highlighting the risk. Clubs and its capitalist owners won’t just sit around seeing this news. They can join forces and lobby the league to get a similar payout against us, Man City, etc. Money is a motivator and no billionaire owner will overlook this opportunity

This wording is so confusing, so since our breach has been settled are we okay or can we still be sued?

Journalist love talking about Chelsea, not about 115 charges against man city that directly relate to ffp and psr.

I am a big fan of Kieran however he is completely wrong in this instance.

Chelsea did not break PSR rules, we instead broke rules involving paying agent fees off the record, very different crimes.

  5. For clarity, clubs are not worried about legal judgement, feeling deprived, losing out on points, sporting chance, fairness….they can simply sniff out the possibility of money. Anything else is simply performative posturing designed to give them the best chance of getting money. From us or from someone else.

Lol, Arsenal could be 3x PL winners in 4 years if Pep didn’t exist, scary thought

  7. I love The Price of Football but Kieran really needs to layoff that we are able to spend.

Oh look Kieran a Brighton fan shitting on Chelsea yet again.

    We have never breached PSR.
How can anyone sue or put a finger on us?

These Brighton fans have some weird hate for us like they are our rivals lol.

  9. The reason we weren’t given a points deduction is because our rule-breaking didn’t give us a sporting advantage. Whereas Burnley won this award because they would have finished above Everton and avoided relegation had Everton’s points deduction been applied in the year they broke the rules and gained a sporting advantage. Seems that Kieran is talking out of his arse here.

Yeah, whatever happens in this god forsaken league, Chelsea should be punished somehow. Also what the fuck is this wording, how are these people journalists?

Chelsea hasn’t done PSR violations. We paid agents under the table. City falsifying sponsor payments and what not…brutal

  12. This is wishful thinking on Kieran’s part but anything of this magnitude will be tied up for years in litigation dragging out the statute of limitations to it’s expiration. Therefore, nothing will happen to us, City, or anyone that has been agreived
