For Perez and Co., the numbers should come as an absolute shock and a statement from the Real Madrid members that they are looking for a regime change. Any candidate vetted as Perez’s successor in the future will have to build off these rocky foundations.

Riquelme, meanwhile, will not be disappointed with the numbers as they show that he has created a real impact and mentality change in the members. He could well be a future president of the club.

Let’s this clown show shit end. We’re going to lose either way as fans.

I don’t think Riquelme is running to win this election, but to position himself as the next potential president after Perez.

Most fans now know his name. He is becoming more popular. And that’s what he wants from running in this election.

  4. This result doesn’t really mean anything beyond the current.

The outcome of the next election will depend on who the candidates are. After all, Riquelme could rely on attacking Perez’s body of work whereas in the next election, which Perez will likely y not contest, each candidate will have to rely on their own proposal compared to others

Real Madrid is bigger than any player, and Perez seems to have forgotten it. He let the team decline while his focus was the new stadium and sacrificed a year and a good coach because some players thought that learning tactics was beneath them. I think Perez is a great president and I don’t want him replaced by a clown, but I really hope this is a wake up call for him.

  6. Very hard for Riquelme to win with only 14 days between being noone and the voting.

Also I’ve heard there’s been some scummy stuff with the mail voting not being equally available for both candidates, not enough to sway the vote most likely, but anyway.

Would’ve been interesting to see maybe a 3 month campaign. I said the election wasn’t as sure as many thought and hopefully Florentino walks back his plan of selling the club. Doubt it tho. Old people are nothing but stubborn…
