      Anyone got any word on whether the Jackson story about “guess who didn’t win a trophy” was real? Because I would love for him to join the bomb squad if so.

      Can someone fill me in on Xabi’s situation at Real Madrid ? I am just beyond excited for this appointment and really need to temper my expectations

      I think the biggest indicator that the board truly “believes” in Alonso is the goalkeeper situation. Even if he’s fine with Sanchez as the No.1, we still need a decent backup keeper. Jorgensen should be shipped out.

      Penders isn’t ready yet. He’s obviously talented, but anyone who’s been following Strasbourg knows exactly what I mean. He needs regular game time, at least one more season out on loan.

      And that’s not even just based on yesterday’s game against Monaco, where 2 of the 4 goals were basically on him. He still doesn’t know how to properly parry the ball away to avoid giving opponents second chances. That’s probably his biggest weakness right now.

      Starting goalkeeper, Starting Centre back, Starting left mid, Starting striker, starting centre mid.

      Its not impossible. Im starting to believe.

      Provided he comes back fit and ready, I’m excited to see Gittens under Xabi. Hopefully the lad can get a good period of fitness and game time

      To be fair I’m excited to see everyone. I loved Maresca but I haven’t been this dumbstruck by a managerial appointment since Tommy Tactics

      Based on Leverkusen formation, I think perfect signings would be Wharton in Xhaka role, Mukiele (did he play under Xabi at Leverkusen?) in Frimpong role, and a CB. If we are getting adding a LW, I’d love Ndiaye. That fills the 4 signings.
