when you’ve got the personnel to do it (which we do despite the injuries) the best form of defence is just…..having the ball, which we’re now doing

0.75 xGA (penalties excluded) over first 5 matches is really good.
Also 1.6 PPG for De Zerbi vs 0.7 PPG over Frank’s last 10 match and an abysmal 0.2 PPG under Tudor.
Kinsky has been performing much better than Vicario as well, but that would not be reflected in xGA which reflects the quality of chances opponents have had.

Everything has. Except PGMOL.

It’s clear from even an eyeball test De Zerbi has just got them set up to play football to their strengths, considering the depleted squad and low confidence.
Whether it was poor instructions or lack of buy in, the players stopped playing for Frank a long time ago and never bought into Tudor.
Watching the Leeds game, they gave up really just two open play chances over 115 minutes. Thank god for next of Kinsky!

It’s been said before but Tudor was a mistake. If we had De Zerbi when we hired Tudor we’d be safe and maybe close to 50 points

Also helps not having Romero out there doing some of the most heinous challenges

Hey man, nice visualisation. Just one tip, as someone who also does some football visualisations: the first line graph pretty much shows what the second one does but with less clarity. For example, there are no fixed grid lines to give more clarity on the xG of each team on each game. It’d be more interesting, to complement the second graph, if you added the grid lines and made it a rolling average, since it’s a more intuitive way to see consistency across games and it’s a little less spiky on a game-to-game basis.
