    ON THIS DAY 2019:

Despite huge doubts hanging over whether Manager Rafa Benitez, along with quite a few of the players, would be staying beyond the end of the season. The travelling Mags wanted to party in the Weat London sunshine.

A flotilla of specially-chartered river boats transported 1’500 Geordie away fans to Craven Cottage, and they were treated to a glorious win to finish the season.

An already relegated Fulham proved the perfect fodder, as Shelvey volleyed in a glorious effort in the first ten minutes to open the scoring.

Two minutes later, Perez pounced on a poorly parried shot by Atsu to add a second.

Schär added a third with an unmarked header from a corner, before player of the season Rondón slotted in a fourth right at the end to keep the away end partying.
